There will be no M'era Luna-partying for me...just 1schnapps with the herring and water rest of the day.
I'm mostly looking foward to meet with the people and and laugh and have a good time, as well as eating classical swedish Midsummer food.
Here's a few shots of last years Midsummer.
The kids wouldn't join in the big group of dancers so we made our own little dance group. Here we are singing and dancing to
"Vi äro musikanter"
OMG and you're wearing the same ribbon I had on my graduation day! A Ukrainian flag ^__^
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, in Scotland, we tend to celebrate midsummer the way we celebrate every other day - by hiding indoors with cups of tea and complaining about the downpour outside. ;) A bit more 'goth', perhaps, but not as fun as a big dance!
ReplyDeleteThat calf is just the cutest!
ReplyDeletehaha that calf is soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting for midsummer in England... I mean, the official day has come and gone already, but all we've had is rain and more rain.
ReplyDeleteHope you have fun!
haha how cool, we don't celebrate midsummer in Australia, this is the first I've ever heard of it. Is it a proper public holiday or do people still have to go to work?
ReplyDeleteDo you dance like this for any other holidays?
