Snowflake make up - small tutorial + outfit

The day before Christmas Eve (in Sweden it's December 23) I was in need to buy some additional gifts. Well, need and need...I wanted to!

So I got into that Christmasy spirit that even us Goth people now can get after watching Nightmare Before Christmas slavishly for years.

I felt like a small vampire chick that just tasted her first blood drop as I went wild with my Kryolan Fluid Foundation TV-white and painted snowflake after snowflake on my pretty face. 
As I added the glitter I'm sure I felt the cold, black Goth heart of mine to acctually make a beat! It was THAT good!

Don't ever be fooled by my cute smile, I'd make your body cold in a heartbeat.

The making of the snowflakes

Kryolan Liquid Foundation TV-white is what I use as a "liner" together with an aquarelle brush, preferably made out of squirrel hair. I naturally only buy brushes made from roadkill squirrels ;)

I slap on the glitter by first dab my ordinary chapstick softly in the area where I want the glitter, then dip a round brush, and shake some off before dabbing it to the area.

The snowflakes was made by first making 3 lines like an "x" kind of, then painted one or two small "v" shapes on every line. I topped it off by using the wooden end on my aquarelle brush to make perfect dots. Secret out!

The coloring of the bangs

I colored my bangs like a candy cane by first using a small amound of Direction's Pink Flamingo, a small dash of Direction's Purple and all mixed with lots of conditioner to get my soft pink. It could have been lighter this time though.

For the streaks I used Direction's Poppy Red.

And the boarder of the bangs is Poppy Red, Pink Flamingo and Pink Flamingo with conditioner. I wanna lick it!

The pretty bows I made at my tea girls crafting evening. They are made from 3 different kinds of ribbons made into bows and hotglued on top of another. But before I glued on the last red bow I pressed an earring (that I bought cheap on sale) right trough, bended it on the backside and then glued it on top of the others. Hotglued a metal hairclip and some felt on backside.

Could I look any more like "What are you talking about? I don't understand.."

The contact lens is white with a slightly thicker black border (can't remember, but not Clearly Colors Special Effects: Manson)

And then I was ready to go out and shop!

Too bad you can't see, but I'm wearing the most fab diamond sprinkled pantyhose from Kawaii Design. 

I'm wearing a pair of black tights under to make them darker.

Today's look

Basic Goth wear by Adora BatBrat by adorabatbrat featuring sequin pants

This is what I consider "basic" goth wear. Nothing special, but still okay.

I had 2 meetings at school yesterday with Fairlight's and TeeBee's teachers wearing this.

(Can someone please help me here - is that correct, or should it be TeeBees' instead of TeeBee's or just plain TeeBees?).

I did feel a bit dressed down from the usual me though.

NO, NO, nothing like that! 

They didn't bite their little friends or anything, it was just the ordinary development chat with the teachers. Fairlight improved (she didn't talk as much and actually raised her hand before talking ;) ). The other things she had under control. Made mum proudest - she is so positive, her teacher said :)

TeeBee...well, what can we say about him...

Also very positive, his teacher said, but ants in the pants, talks as much as I do and just wanna have fun all the time.

Makes his homework witout any effort and scored the highest of all kids in the class (waaaay higher) with 61 points out of 62! A brainiac! Just like me ;)

M'era Luna 2012 - Day 1

At this years M'era Luna electro/goth festival there was not as many pictures taken at the hostel as usual :(
I have to provide the ones I've got. I really should have documented my make up and clothing a bit better *darn*

This is the best of my make up I could find, and it's not even that good:

It's more or less my ordinary make up, but with just a small dab of the rouge instead of the whole jar that I usually have. But with the black sclera lenses and the white Kanekalon hair it works very well I think.

I still look like a sweet cow though instead of a devils demon that I hoped for. How is that?!

I've seen lots of people wearing black sclera lenses and they all looked scary and demon-like.

Just my luck to look sweet and nice! Crap!

M'era Luna 2012: Day 1

I look so goth with my black sclera lenses!
But I kind of look sweet and nice too - that's not good.

I wanted to look evil but instead I look like a horse or a cow with those big, shiny eyes.

As ego as I am I still haven't done this before...

I am kind of allergic to having things on my walls and I just want the flat to be anonymous white and pure booring...mostly because colors disturbs my high functioning brain.

 "-But hey", you say. "We have seen on pictures you have lots of pink and other colors in your flat!"
With my head bowed in shame I must confess that is true.
What else is true is I have a husband who nags about adding some color at home and wants canvases on EVERY wall!

"-Oh, this wall is white, clean and calming - we must add a canvas here to mess it up."

(and since he is such a doll to look at I try to be obliging)

Okay, I admit these two walls looks kind of cool - but not after a week!

So I change curtains, cushions, canvases and clutters every now and then: summer = soft pink, autumn = light green or grey, winter = well, Christmasy..., spring = light turquoise.
Every now and then I manage to have it all white...for a day or two before he complains.

I focus on being happy with the fact I do have white roofs and white walls in all 5 rooms, as the kitchen and the 2 toilets, and white floors in 3 of the rooms.

I have been lobbying for 3 years to get a white floor in my livingroom as well (instead of that horrendous wooden floor). But still no luck there. He says he don't wanna live in a hospital!
WHAT?! That's lovely I think. He's pretty, but a bit crazy ;)

And here comes the ego part in.
Finally I decided since I'm stuck watching canvases on every wall I might as well have me on them. I should have myself all over the walls! I like how I turn out on pictures and I am a bit of a fan to myself, but admiering my pictures instead of the reflection in the mirror.
And yes, you can be in love with yourself without being a snob about it. Love yourself and be humble. Noone in their right mind can say it's wrong to love yourself.
So today I made a pretty canvas of me and my darling from last years M'era Luna festival.

Secret life of...

Today I did something very unlike myself; I accepted an interview from our newspaper!
For many, many years I have been "chased" from different newspapers in Sweden for interviews, but I have always said no, no and no.
Even Dagens Nyheter (The Daily News), Sweden's biggest newspaper, have asked me several times to be able to follow me around for a day.
I can't see why on earth I'm that interesting?

But I liked the reporter, Lasse, and thought he was very respectful, well mannered and sweet, so I said yes.

He told me he's got lots of cred at work for being able to make me accept :) "-How were you able to get her? She never says yes?!"
I must confess I only did it for the applepie and vanilla sauce he bought me...but let's keep that secret between just you and me!

The cute girls at daycare said I had my prettiest moment ever today. I even heard the word "princess".
They were most intrigued by my one green eye. How is that possible?! they said.

My own kids are never impressed.. -Mhm, so you have your lens on today *gasp*. What's for dinner?

BatBrat Adorable Heart blouse disaster

One vampire skill is to make pretty things, but unfortunately I don't have the skill to make people do things the way I see them inside this clown green head.
I surround myself with talented pattern makers, lovely companions and competent coworkers who goes out on a limb just to help me out.
I so appreciate them!

It is poop when there is failure in the third row.
I feel stupid and think perhaps I did not explain good enough, did I copy the pattern wrong or what did I do?

The lovely Victorian collar is in production for 100 pieces right now, and is working smoothly.

But.....the (not so) Adorable Heart blouse is once more creating my pretty little head with worries.
Having no worries is my source to looking young so thinking is not good for me.

After measuring, and control measuring, and once more just to be sure, I now have to try sew a size Small just to find out where the glitch is. Is it me, the pattern or the communication with the seamstresses that's wrong?
I know my pattern maker D did a terrific job.
I think I did a good job too...
I know my lovely contacts S, G, and M at L company are super professional and completely understand every detail...so the miscommunication must be with the seamstresses who's not understanding the pattern.
In order to make things clear I now must try to sew from my own pattern just to compare.
And I'm NO seamstress!
I'm not as good as them! I will be humiliated if they look at my riffraff version.
Their sewing is impeccable, mine is far from.

After several mails back and forward we solved the problem!
Apparently my seamstresses misunderstood the placement of the heart as well as making too small insicions and that's why the blouse was FAR too big (I know I haven't lost weight!). Hopefully it is ready to be sewn as well - in a near future.

Where the hell did that lovely cross linen go? An all black clothing is not always that smart I guess when it comes to wardrobes.

This is from a birthday party at a co-worker to my husband. I look soooo relaxed...and a bit evil ;)

Here we were on our way out to town on a hot summers day. No tattoos! It looks so wierd!

Too bad black hair don't suite me that well, but it looks okay here.

I have always had a thing for lace stockings as you might have picked up on!
