On Phase 1 again

Finally April is coming to an end! There have been no end to the birthday partys and invitations this month. Usually I eat Montinac 80% of the time and then other things 20% of the time.
But this crazy eating feast hidden inside the Easter made me do the opposite and NOW I have to pay the price! 2 kilos up.
I hate loosing weight over a long period of time so I just went straight for Phase 1 today.

Many have asked how one eat at Phase 1, so here's what I had today.
Remember - you should always eat so you feel full, never go hungry!

Breakfast: ½ an apple 20 minutes before, then water and 2 ryebread with nothing but smoked ham and tomatoes on
(fruit before is to avoid that bloodsugar fall after you have eaten)
Break: fruit salad (apple/pear/orange)
Lunch: ½ an apple 20 minute before. Fried high meat sausage, red onion, mushrooms and 2 fried eggs, water.
Break: tea and a rye bread
Dinner: ½ an apple 20 minutes before. Basmati rice, smoked pork loin, paprika, red onions, fresh salad, green beans, water.
Evening snack: rye bread with raw spiced salmon and fresh white pepper and dill, water.

I often go for the same breakfast, mostly because I'm lazy and don't care that much in the mornings.
Rye breads with sliced egg/ham/avocado or wholegrain porridge with fresh berries in Phase 1.

  1. I'm on phase 1 at the moment, but it's quite hard as a vegetarian!

I didn't know you could have anything on the rye bread other than fat free cheese/yoghurt. I'm still not very good at knowing what goes with what!

Will you be updating every day with what you eat? I sometimes get a bit stuck with what to eat, so it's nice to hear what someone else eats.

  3. Try these out (from Sybille Montignac's blog):
    Chocolate chip oat bran muffins
    Ingredients for 10-12 muffins:
    - 100 g dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa) cut into small chips
    - 4 eggs (or egg whites for a carbohydrate-protein meal)- you can beat them lightly or even better separate egg yolks and whip egg whites
    - 4 tablespoons cottage cheese 0% fat (cow's or sheep's milk)
    - 4 tablespoons fructose
    - 8 tablespoons oat bran
    - 4 tablespoons wheat bran
    - 4 teaspoons baking powder
    - 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    Directions:
    Preheat oven to 180°C.
In a bowl, stir together eggs, cottage cheese, fructose and vanilla extract.
Add bran and baking powder, stir to combine.
    Stir in dark chocolate chips.
Spoon batter into muffin cups. Bake for 25 minutes.
They're really tasty and can be eaten even in phase I, especially if you do not have to loose more that 10 kilograms.

  5. Thanks for reminding me of phase 1...I've been eating Daim-cakes during the Easter. Within four days I had three of them! (And yes, I mean those "traditional" Swedish almond cakes! Greetings from Finland: Swedish Marabou -factory must be doing well because of my efforts...)

  6. As a vegetarian, I have more trouble putting weight on than loosing it. I have to have high fat and high carbs in my diet, else my weight falls below 45kg. Back when I was at school, it got so low I stopped having my period.

I remember when my stepmother went on the no-carb, all-fat, all-protein diet. She wondered why she didn't lose weight at all.
