Mothers Day

Today was Mothers Day here in Sweden.
We celebrated by visiting my husbands mom (and dad) for dinner.

As from Sunday a week ago first TeeBee, then Fairlight, then Synthia had a fever, so I have had no chance to figure out what I wanted for Mothers Day (yes, I'm a total bitch to buy presents for and changes everything if I had not specificly wished for it) so I got my husbands card to buy me something later. Suits me much better!

Fairlight got the chicken pox this Friday so she is now on medication 4 times/day since her cell toxins makes her less resistant to this sickness. Poor girl :(
(she suffers from the rare soft tissue rheumatism Juvenile Dermatomyositis, JDM)
Right now I'm just hoping for Fairlight's recovery and that TeeBee and Synthia won't get infected. Yeah, fat chance of that not happening! Chicken pox contaminates by a look of an eye! Crap! I'll be home with sick kids for weeks.
Congratulations on Mothers Day to me!
Bitter? Noooo......what gave me away?

  2. I hope you had fun! You definitely need to show me what you buy yourself for your very special mother's day!

So sad about the chickenpox thing with your children! If you're worried about it spreading, there is a vaccine for it though I don't know how available or how expensive it is in your country.

  3. I hope your children get well soon, and even though it sucks that you can't have a relaxing care free Mother's Day...it just goes to show how great of a mother you are for taking care of your little ones!

  4. @Willow -- There is a vaccination for chicken pox, but it is overall healthier for children to not get the vaccination. This is because it may catch up with them later on, where they can catch chicken pox when they're adults. It's better for them to go through it, so they don't need to worry about it. (I know this because I was vaccinated when I was born, and I have to, now, get regular shots for the vaccine to be renewed.)

But! I hope your kids do get better, Adora. And, I hope you had a good Mother's Day, despite their sicknesses.

  5. Happy mother's day to you from Ukraine!!!
I wish your kids to get better as soon as possible, just watch them not to scratch those marks. And it's cool they gotit when still being kids. I'm now recovering after my chickenpox caught at the age of ** - well, not a very young one. It's been hell at first, I thought I'd lose my mind. I missed 2 parties and eventually have nasty marks on face, legs and belly and had to cancel a few club-style photoshoots. T__T Here's what adult chickenpox is...

  6. Hope chickenpox will pass by soon and witout pain. It's good to get them while we are (I mean, were) young.
Mother's day in Croatia is on second Sunday in May, but I think father's day in on same date every year- I must check.
Kisses to your kids and I wish them to get well asap ;)

  7. Yes, chickenpox can be life threatening for adults so just try to be happy that your children are having it now... the sooner the better! <:) Anyway, happy mother's day to you, you really deserve some pampering when your children are all healthy again! <3

  9. Happy Mother's Day! I know how it sucks when ones kid are sick but on the bright side it's better that they get through chickenpox while so young. My kid is almost nine and still haven't had it yet. I would have it better if he had it as kid since in adult age for boys it's dangerous for they may stay sterile and it's altogether life threatening sickness for grown ups. Good luck, hope your angels get better soon.

  10. Sorry you have to be home with a sick kid :( You'll find something cool to use your hubbie's card on, though!
