Bollywood make up

Tonight our hosts in our gourmand dinner club "The Bite Club" had Bollywood as a theme, so as the good guest I am I tried to do my best with the things I had at home :)
I am nowhere near the beauty of those Indian women, but I still felt very beautiful. Ever since I was a child I have loved those wonderful India-women with their jewels and make up. I think we have all admired them...
I was even more brown in real life, the picture didn't make it justice

And yeah, the food was sooo amazing. My belly is more of a balloon now, filled with lots of dishes I can't pronounce :)

  6. Oh you painted your face BROWN?!!! That is pretty lame, almost racist. It's lame for sure though. :l

  7. It´s not racism, its a tribute.
    You look stunning!

  8. Came on "Anonymous" Think about it, its not racist. If you are realistic most of te indian women have a skin colour browner than Adoras.
It could never been racist shes doing like an honour

Its like when she makes her face look like a gost >.< xD but the other way round

  9. How's that racist? She's doing it as a tribute to the people of India. She's not trying to mock them.

P.s. Adora you look so amazing in these photo's! Probably more amazing in person! I am very jealous of how pretty you are! I really love your eyes!

  11. Haha oh dear, Don't listen to those anonymous losers, everyone knows they keep their identity a secret because they don't want anyone to see our patheticly boring they are in real life! hah. You look stunning as always :) Maybe you can disable anonymous comments so they we can all see how amazing they must be to feel they need to bully other people. How sad, seriously get a life anons, lifes too short.

  14. oh my god, you look so gorgeous, i don´t have words to say how beautiful you are in this look.

  15. you look gorgeous!! this is the prettiest picture, i didn't even recognize you! i bet you could do some magical tricks with makeup and we wouldn't even recognize. You should play dress up more often!!!

  16. soo beautiful <3 as allways

  17. I'm so pathetically boring because I don't have green hair and a unicorn horn. Eye roll.

Painting your face brown isn't a tribute. If you were brown you'd think it's disgustingly lame. How would you feel if a dark Indian woman painted her face white and wore blue contacts to the opera: it would be pretty stupid right? Same idea.

I love Adora, but this is just not so cool.

  18. omg, this is weird. You look amazingly beautyful, but it feels like looking at a different person with the natural tent and hair colour.
Who are you? And what have you done with adora? ;)

  19. OMG!!!! you are marvelous! you look like an amazing actress... i love your green eyes! perfect!

  20. I read your blog and know a little bit your goth's soul but this make up is really good for you, I think...

  21. Du är jätte vacker. Kanske ska bli lite solbränd i sommar i stället?

  22. A lot of women wear bronzer/fake tan, so why the 'lame/racist' comments? It's just a bit of bronzer...

    ReplyDelete
  23. @Anonymous'es: The dots on my arm - is actually my VEINS popping out! I have very external veins.

About the "tan". I don't think the india make up would be made justice with my pale look, I wanted to look like the real thing. I had inspitarion from this picture:
    http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/200809/r290645_1242789.jpg

My heritage is Spanish, so my mother (and my whole family on that side) looks like a mix between spanish and indian women (men) with darker skincolor, brown eyes and black hair. I too get VERY brown if I let the sun come near me.

  24. Adora, did you dye your hair brown or what? :O it certainly doesn't look purple anymore!

  25. hmm.. you did a fantastic job with the outfit and make-up, but I like you more "goth" ;)

how did you make your hair brown? or is a wig?

  26. I'm loving the way you did your eyes. The colours and the blending is perfect. So envious of your awesome make-up skills.

  27. Adora,
This is the most beautiful I've seen you yet! I LOVE this look!!! I love this tribute to the Indian culture.
I bet your evening was fun!

As for anonymous, you're just a jealous hater, who hides behind your anonymity. People like you are called trolls. Go find something more productive to do with your time than to criticize people.

  28. Oh, this is so beautiful! :D I've always loved Bollywood (I went to Bollywood-dance classes for half a year ;D) but I would never have expected you to try it out! You never fail to amaze me, you are so wonderful <3

  29. I'm not a troll; I'm an offended Indian woman.

    The ignorance is rampant.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well Anonymous, that sucks for you
    I am a not-offended Indian woman.
    Great job Adora ;)

  31. Wow you look so different...it totally fits you! :))

  33. SO BEAUTIFUL, sincerely ~

  34. Yes, today I will dress like a swede, paint my face white, wear all black and grey clothes, wear a blonde wig and act like an ignoramus who can't learn anything new.

    Good plan? Yes, ok.

  35. Simple stunning, i can actually see your true features!, love it!, i do like the original Adora, but it about time i see your true physique.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh my god, you look absolutely stunning! This is a fabulous look on you. (Compared to your usual look.) Keep on being beautiful!

  37. They say imitation is the ultimate compliment. Why not take it as such, instead of saying one cannot embrace and love other cultures, but only be allowed to express oneself through one's own?
Ah, enough of this trolling :/

  38. I dont think she is that 'brown'?? I think it looks like Adora with a slight bronzing - a couple of shades darker than her normal. Gorgeous, and definatly not offensive! I too want to know if she dyed her hair or a wig :D I love it! PS Still wanting to see wedding Pics!! x x

  39. Adora! You made me so proud! You took your make up skills and challenged yourself well :) You look soooooooo beautiful and super gorgeous! Any other looks you would like to inspire me with? hehe. Keep up the gooood work.

    xoxo,
    Rachel.

  40. I don't think any of you have a right to say it's not offensive that Adora browned her skin to play dress up as an Indian woman unless you actually ARE an Indian woman. How the hell would you know? You can't speak for a different race.

I know, and it IS offensive, so believe and deal with it.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I'm an Indian and I think Adora is very beautiful. And if she had not painted brown face she could not exactly replicate the Indian style. I do not think it racism.Think that this racism is stupid!

    ReplyDelete
  42. What fun! Back in college I would have theme parties and insist that people had to dress up. I never thought that now I'm older I can have dinner theme parties!

  46. she looks like a chick with a tan. why don't you go complain about snookie being racist since she's a thousand times browner

    i think she looks great.
