Adora BatBrat Crib - New floor

A new feature will be my living quaters.
How cosy is my couch, what chair is mine by the table, where did I fall and break my elbow, where do I hide the bodies etc.?

A while back I re-made the old dollhouse, and one of the rooms got to look like this:
I think all of us likes chequered floors, and I've always wanted it somewhere in my living quarters.
But also I hate disturbing patterns so it can't be anywhere where I see it all day long.
Ta-daa! I have a mini, mini hallway right outside our bedroom door to the bathroom door with a butt ugly floor. And also there was a couple of blood stains needed to be covered up if the cops ever came knocking.
Bedroom to the left, walk in closet straight ahead, master bathroom to the right.
Ugly floor here seen with part of the draft paper over it.
So, I went to Bauhaus this summer and bought me a piece of their chequered plasic floor.
Of course I'm wearing the pants in my family...or the tulle skirt to be more exact.., well, you know what I mean, that I'm the handy-man but woman.

Did a little draft paper to help with the cutting of the floor.
The view from the livingroom.
Kermit's green legs sticking out :)
The view from the bedroom.
A this is how lovely it turned out!
We almost have a full chess table so I'm just waiting until the day there will be two russian chess pro's sitting there playing a game.
I did according to what the man at the store told me; just cut it right and put double sided adhesive tape at the edges. I'm such a pro!

Dollhouse: Red velvet armchair

Don't ask me how, but I remember fragments of thick paper cut in shape, fleece covered with red velvet, a few stitches and some glue...and a hell of a lot of luck.

Dollhouse: Pool part 3

Chocolate box turned into a pool area!
It's just some minor details left. I'm thinking about adding some white tiles around the pools as well.

I should so win an award for this one!

Dollhouse: Pool part 2

First step done. I'm very impressed by myself so far!

Now it's time for some Lego time with my son TeeBee who's always home on Tuesdays. Suits me perfect today since I'm down with a small fever and massive headache.

Sneeze, sneeze and sneeze all day long. Poor me have not even make up on!

THAT'S how bad it is..

Dollhouse: Pool

The dollhouse needs a pool the kids said.

An old chocolate box, a roll from a tape and some print outs of grass, pool water and a brick wall might do it?

Will be interesting to see how this will turn out..

Dollhouse

To make a toilet out of a candy box...

I will try to make a toilet and a wash basin out of parts from Marabou Paradis chocolate box.

Mo-hahaha, it's so evil.

Dollhouse

A few more pictures of the dollhouse toilet.

Today I've done no working on the house, but I did start to make a "money robot" with TeeBee.
It was his short day at daycare today.
And while I was at the dentists he had to stay at his dad's work, and he was so sweet and good behaved that one of my husband's coworkers gave him a "tip"! For that tip he wanted to buy himself a special yoghurt, and then he got some coins back and didn't wanna put them in his piggy bank so I suggested we should build a money robot. So we did!
It's not completely done, but it can eat money and the money ends up in his tummy just like TeeBee wanted. We have only the legs and the eyes left for tomorrow.
I'll take a picture of it in the morning, it turned out very well! it's made out of an After Eight box, a fluidliner box, paper and steel wire and some decorations.
It's so fun having kids and do this sort of things :)

Dollhouse

This is how the two beds turned out:

I made a small mattress for them today as well. How I wish I could shrink and try one out. But they aren't comfy I suppose. I'm used to a soft, poofy princess mattress myself.

And the toilet is slowly getting there... Today the kids wanted me to make a small round pool for the outside as well...
"-Hi, kids, I'm your mom, and my life is only about pleasing you."

Nah, the truth is I love making things like this with, and for, them. When they are not home I play myself :)
Computer games? Never! Playing with dollhouses and making fun games about pee, with the kids - that's my kind of fun! I'll tell you about that pee game some other time!

Dollhouse

Fairlight 's pink bed is now glued and ready for using.

It will get the legs painted and then we will make some pillow and stuff.

But it's ready for a play test.

This is how the original print looked like, the blue one I altered in Photoshop.

Dollhouse

Next bed in process. I think they look divine! I'm just a happy amateur but I'm still impressed that I could make such a cute bed just out of paper :)

Perhaps I regret it in one hour when the kids smash it...

Dollhouse

This thing, dollhouse decorating, would very much be the best thing ever!

I have seen some real pro people out there that makes a dollhouse so real, it's fantastic!

I'm still but an amateur but I enjoy myself and the kids are so happy with the progress. After all, it's to be played with, not stand and collect dust.

I just made Synthias blue bed and will now make Fairlight's pink bed.

I just took a picture of the web, transformed it a bit in Photoshop, printed and glued on both sides of an old ice cream carton for stability and put together. For legs I used the stick from the ice cream, painted white and glued them on with my glue gun.

Ta daa!  One bed made!

It's getting tested right now for playing, and so far, so good.
