Pretty Cajsa and me at Wayne's Coffee, where we both ordered tea as we chit-chatted about how our looks makes the world a prettier place to live in. You don't have to thank us  :)

I had on a spiderweb shirt, a sequin skirt (one I bought, cut off and added a ruffled lace) and my spiderweb stockings.

Nice touch with the garbage chute to the left...


Spiderweb make up today. And a soft, silvery shade all the way to the eyebrows.

I'm making a pair of legwarmers with a cross and an organza bow on each to be put in the webshop tomorrow.
I sew so hard I broke off the needle!

During all of my years of sewing I have NEVER broken a needle while hand stitching! By machine? Sure, like a thousand times. But this was the first.
I think I'm in some kind of shock now..
Not to worry - no blood was spilled (sadly).

Crafting: Bread basket

At my break I had a cup of tea and painted the second coat of my basket I bought for 5 sek (less than a $) last week.
I'll turn it into a little bread basket.
Perhaps I can put my cinnamon buns in it when it's done :)

Baking: Cinnamon bun Day Part 2

After about 30-45 minutes go check on your buns.
Depending on your inner temperature they might need some more yeasting. They should about double in size.

After 30-45 minutes yeasting "the professioonal way" (in OFF oven
with a pot of boiling water at bottom)  your buns are HUGE!

Brush them lightly with egg mixture (1 egg, 1 tablespoon of water and ½ teaspoon of salt).
Pour on heavily with pearl sugar.

Toss them in your oven. 

Eat, eat, EAT!

Baking: Cinnamon bun Day Part 1

So far I've done this:

Mix all the ingredients for 10 minutes. No need to melt butter and heaten milk. The blending process will make it warm enough for the yeast to wake up.

Put a towel over it and place in a warm invironment.
40 minutes later it will look like this.

Put in on your baking table with just the smallest amount of flour.

Use your rolling-pin to make it B I G.

Spread butter/cinnamon/sugar mixture on half of the dough.

Like this.

Now gently fold the dough together.

Making it look like this.

Shred the dough to about 20-22 pieces.

Cut it into a pair of pants. (You don't have to do this step. You can move on to the next one, but I always do it like this)

Tvist it.

Turn it. Number 6 makes good buns.

Tuck in the little end in the middle. Makes it look like a turd, right!

Other view.

If you are going to eat the buns today - put them in "paper cups" (what the hell is the english word for that?) to make them look nice.

But are you going to put them in your freezer I recommend you NOT to put them in paper cause it will only fall off and make you swear.

And now my little buns are safely tucked in to grow and be a bit bigger.

Put in a warm, and preferably bit moist place, for about 40 minutes.

(The professionals recommend to put them in the oven (on OFF) and put a kettle of boiling water at the bottom.)

And this is where I'm at right now. Waiting, waiting....

Baking: Cinnamon bun Day

Today is the Swedish Cinnamon bun Day!

So it's like a rule to make Cinnamon buns today.

If we don't do it, or at least eat one, we'll have to go to jail.

My dough is just ready to be made into buns so I'll go carve it up real good.

Interview prior to the release of the book "Den Svenska Synthen"

Here'e my translation of the interview made at Zero Magazine as a teaser for the book "Den Svenska Synthen" (The Swedish Electro scene):

• synthare = someone who listens to electro music as early Depeche Mode, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Kraftwerk, Visage, Psyche, Covenant (preferable no guitars, black clothes and a certain look). Closest international word is electro goth.

Do you call yourself a "synthare" and if so why?
- Of course!1984 the grey masses buzz ceased to exist to Depeche Modes' tune "Two Minute Warning", and I went looking for a new clan of black dressed like-minded. "A synthare is an individual who listens to synth music and lives within the subculture" someone smart (probably me) once manifested, and that's exactly how it is. The clothes, hair, make up and the music makes the synthare. I'm proud being a synthare and consider the endeavor to be a good citizen in any subculture futher the individual.
We are not alongside the society, we are just making a more beautiful. Oh, I get all warm in my kohl-pen-drenched heart just hearing the word "synth".

What garnment should every synthare, male or female, definite have in their closet?
- Most importantly is the skinny, back tie. But you must of course wear it with suspender and a white shirt.
Nedless to say a pair of 10 eye steelcaps in the shoe rack and a *Gestapo coat at the vestibule is demanded. Although all real synthare already knows this ...

*Gestapo coat is not an actual Gestapo coat (but totally inspired by one): a double buttoned leather trench coat with a belt. I think all synthare in Sweden's got one. It's just for style, no political agenda.

– Självfallet! 1984 upphörde den grå massans sorl för mig till tonerna av Depeche Modes ”Two Minute Warning”, och jag uppsökte en ny klan av svartklädda liktänkare. ”En synthare är en individ som lyssnar på synthmusik samt lever med i subkulturen” har någon smart person (förmodligen jag själv) en gång uttryckt det, och precis så är det. Kläderna, håret, sminket och musiken gör syntharen. Jag är stolt över att vara synthare och anser att strävan att vara en god medborgare inom vilken subkultur som helst främjar personen. Vi står inte utanför samhället, vi skapar bara ett vackrare. Oh, jag blir varm i mitt kajalindränkta hjärta bara jag hör ordet ”synth”.

Vilka plagg bör varje synthare, man som kvinna, absolut ha hemma i garderoben?
– Viktigast av allt är en smal, svart slips. Men man måste förstås ha hängslen och en vit skjorta till den. Självklart krävs även ett par tiohålskängor med stålhätta i skohyllan och en Gestaporock i vestibulen. Fast detta vet ju alla riktiga synthare redan ...

I'm in a book! Den Svenska Synthen

I've been interviewed for the book Den Svenska Synthen (The Swedish Electro scene) by Bengt Rahm.
I was so honoured to be asked to be in it! This is a book I think every swedish "synthare" (electro goth) will buy - and I'm in it!!! How cool is that?!
I was interviewed because of my long term relationship with being a synthare and the fashion during the years (as I've seen it). And I've contributed with a few photos from the 1980's-90's.

Today there is an interview about the book being released, a teaser perhaps, where I've been interviewed as well.
