Todays make up

I used a slightly bigger brush today since my thin brush is a total mess and I need to order a new one.

Since I use the Kryolan cake eye liner together with my Kryolan CEL sealer it is important what brush you have. Synthetic hairs can't carry as much water and color as real hair, and that makes it difficult to draw my swirls otherwise since the color won't last all the way.

My Music Mondays: Front 242

*Synthare is the swedish term for an electro goth (I think that's the closest).
At the same time as Alphaville, Depeche Mode and Nitzer Ebb were trying their best to kill my Ferguson speakers there was another bidder for my ears love: Front 242.
Headhunter by Front 242
This cool Belgium band also came with a whole package, just likeNitzer Ebb and Depeche Mode they had a certain dress- and hair style.
Dressed in quasi-military attire and having some very graphic and odd band pictures, as well as a pacey live performance they stood out and was just what cool, fake-angry teen girls needed.
Me and my friends even came up with this (rediculous) dance rountine to the song Headhunter. As we were no professional dancers the routine was VERY simple and we danced it as a group (we were a gang of 8-14 girls that always hang out together) so we stood in a long line doing the moves simultaneously.
Still to this day I can't hear the song without taking a few of the moves!

I arranged a bus trip to them playing in Gothenburg when I was 16, 1989 (I think it was the 19'th of March?). I belive I managed to fill a bus with 64 people for that trip.
The fun/sad part was that several of the guys had cut their wonderful synth-hairdo just as Richard 23. If not misstken it was a kind of a mohawk, but 5 centimeters wide and 9 mm high.
I felt so sad that they had cut off that supercute synth-hair.

Classic swedish synth hairdo (apart from the sideburns).
And about 90% of the concert goers had "Front-outfits"; military thingies, 10 eye doc's, black body armour looking vests and linen. Not my favorite synth outfit, but totally okay.
Not that much make up either, so I prefered the Depeche Mode fans more since they had more arty hair and embraced the androgynous look of a New Romantic that has always been my kind of guy!

I love Front 242 so much that I even have their logo for one of the maxi singles "Tyranni for you" tattooed on my arm. I LOVE that tattoo!
Here is another very famous song by the lovely Front242:
No shuffle
And one of my favs:
Official version

Music Monday, I promise!

I have been a tired Adora lately and missed out on my duty's as a respectful blogger. I just put a needle in my hand to make me snap out of it - and hell, it might just have worked! I stood up straight, gazed to the sun and declared "never more". So, yes, there will be a Music Monday today! And also: today's make up.

Todays make up

Picture 1,

Even though I was going to an adventure bath today I see no reason not to have pretty make up, at least to begin with...and I figure since I wear so much make up it will only look like a normal Goth day of my life even if it smudges.

Picture 2

After beeing drenched by TeeBee like 45 times, got under the water several times and been splashed on 62 times the make up still were perfect! I'm in shock! Kryolan foundation and IsaDora powder really stood the test today!

And oh yeah -I have the Senior Goth body of the year as you can tell  :)

And the fiercest swim wear in the Goth history. Uhhm , perhaps not..

I'm not Esther Williams!

Contrary to what my family seems to think I am not the reincarnation of swim art princess Esther W.

Okay,so I have probably seen all her movies but that doesn't make me wanna dip my toes in water below 30 degrees Celsius more often.

But once again the pale Goth of the family got voted down and is forced to put on a fake happy smile and travel by car 1 hour to go to a water park (Kaskad in Tingsryd) and laugh in pain as the make up slowly gets ruined and the fun breaks through my wall of cynicism and what a horror - I might just have fun for real!

I will never get my mopy goth respect back if anyone sees this.

Good thing I paint my eyebrows "angry", this way it will look as if I'm laughing with an evil grin. "-Mo ha ha haaa!

BatBrat transfered to CatBrat

TeeBee s final 5'the Birthday party is over. The 3d Halloween party he had!

I borrowed the kids catwoman mask and tried to do a Michelle.  We'll, she did it better, but I think I did it okay.

I have licked all of the cream of the cake and will now lick myself on my secret place (behind my ear). Mmmiauu...

Todays look

On my way to get TeeBee from daycare.  Happy  :)

Todays make up

I just can't help it, but I love my swirls!

But it seems like I have to buy a new brush. Last time I had to buy one with synthetic fibre, and they only last a couple of months so I need to buy a new with real hair.

I used to have one made of one of the squirrels Elvis ate, but after some years it ran away with it's fur in a sorry state.

This time they only have "mård " (it's a bit like a wolverine) so I'll try it.

Can't be worse than it already is!

Todays make up

Today's look.

I'm at the veterinarian office (from this morning) to leave off Porsche (my siames cat) who had a small biopsy of his heel done.

Nothing serious, just as a precaution since he had a bit of a rash. He's home now and been sleeping in my lap since  <3

Crafting: Halloween cupcake toppers

Friday is TeeBee s 3'd birthday party (will they ever end?).

This time it's for his friends from daycare.

Just finished the cupcakes toppers.

I think I will make last weeks big hit,  the dog poo cookies this time as we'll.

Todays make up

On my way out for a business meeting.

The clever little hair clip is a picture of an old medicine bottle printed and glued to a wooden cut out  board and a hair clip glued on the back.

Easy and striking!

Unfortunately I can't take credit for making it as I bought it at a stall at the new "Space market" in Camden, London.

But belive me, I will use this knowledge for my own privilege to somehow make this help me rule the world!

M'era Luna festival 2011 - Day 2

Here is a picture of me and my sister Iva Insane by Andreas Metzner from this years M'era Luna:
Aww, we are so cute together!!! I miss my super pretty sister :(  ...and M'era Luna....and all the fab and sweet friends we have there... Miss you all!

Reader Recommendation: Nordlicht

I just LOVE when my fellow bats sees something adorable and send the tips straigh to me!
Lovely Nordlicht got the "subtile" message that I have a flair for princess crowns and as she was out hunting for whatever scary thing on Etsy.com she saw this scary sweet crown and immediately thought of me!
Isn't that just the sweetest?!

Crown by Etsy designer Noxhyde $59.99. Made of leather.
Are to be fastened by bobby pins.
Of course I love it! It's so EVIL!
The designer of this creation is Noxhyde.
She's got these lovely cat ears as well. $39.99.
Really brings shame to my old DIY ones! *bit embarassed now*
They have long stitches underneath that you put the bobby pins in.
But since I'm a crafting person myself I will try to make my own. I love this idea! But I will probably add hair clips to them. Just don't have the time to fuck round with bobby pins in the morning...

Panic!!! Facebook account disactivated!

WTF!
Someone, now on top of my dead list (and will turn up dead tomorrow), reported to Facebook that Adora BatBrat wasn't my real name (you know who you are S!).
Now...that's not nice..
Especially since I AM Adora BatBrat! Just as much as Norma Jean was Marilyn Monroe.
Worst thing is I can't even get access to my linked accounts; like my official Adora BatBrat page, Asperger Synthdrome and BatBrat.com Facebook pages...
But since I'm the luckiest person alive I will turn out on top of this anyway ;)

Sunday ice capades!

In my attempt to stay true to my Sunday Goth coolness I tried out a new activity since last Sundays theater was fun - and that's not cool.
Digged out my old ice skates that'd been in hiding since the last decade (more like 15 years).
Ice is cool so it might just done the trick!
But it was a pure BatBambi on ice I can tell you!

I fell on my pretty behind ONCE and of course my husband caught it on video!
But once again I had fun, so this won't quality as a cool Sunday Goth activity either.
But I will not rest until I've discovered the perfect cool Goth thing to do on a Sunday!

Adora, the interior designer

I had a blast putting up new wallpaper and a new floor this week.
I had an accident with the old ones that included blood splatter by some reason.

The checker floor and the shocking pink wallpaper is a classic.
Actually my pretty sister Iva Insane 's teen room looked/looks exactly like this.

But this is not a room I'd like to live in - especially if you consider the hight of the roof!
I have put up wallpapers in the livingroom as well, but there is an ugly floor in there so far so it will take some time before I have decorated the whole house..
I'm shocked how fun this was! Gonna do a total remake of the house.

Busy with birthday baking

Phuh, this week is Autumn holiday week for school kids so I've had the kids at home almost every day this week <3
Been a good mum and made them bake, watched Lego StarWars movie, painted and play games with them all week. It's been very nice, but GOD it left me drained. I can't wait until Monday when they start school again!
Tomorrow is TeeBee's Birthday party for the relatives so I have a LOT to do.
I've done a few things so far...(but the stupid video didn't want to be uploaded...)

Halloween 2011: My look

Friday TeeBee had his usual Halloween Birthday party.
After the 5 minutes fast decoring (that actually turned out very good!) I did all over the place the party started.
I looked like this:
I'm quite satisfied with how the look turned out!
The dress I bought at Vanilla in Camden, London.

We left a note on the door for the guests:
"Ring the bell, count to 30 then enter. If you dare...."
It was just to give their kids a scary walk.
We put scary music on as we heard the bell and went hiding in the kitchen.
As they entered there was a fake man sleeping on the bench just inside the door.
They went through the slaughter drapery, went face to face with the ghost and a witches pot with smoke.
Entered the living room with the smashed witches legs under the table, sneak up to the lady with the black bag over her head.
Then we went out and TeeBee declared: Welcome to my party!!!

We had a fab evening and Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline and Corpse Bride was rolling on the telly.

V-log: Sunday Goth

In the intriguing tale of the life of Adora, we have reached the "Sunday Goth".
Many have wondered, but few have the facts.
There once was a time when people who found out were never found with a body temperature ever again, but you might take the chance.
I can't guarantee your safety though...

Halloween 2011: Cakes

The superfast Cut off Finger cookie.

This was a total cheat on my side: chocolate covered finger cookies rolled into a piece of marzipan. An almond splint for a nail and some red food color.

Press in a few lines on the finger and you are done!

Crunchy and nice.

Halloween 2011: Broken doll

This years outfit was kind of "Dead Doll". It was for TeeBee 's Halloween Birthday party tonight.

When I got the kids from school looking like this their classmates were stunned, and some a bit scared.

Giving them nightmares like a true Goth should!

;)

Halloween 2011: Cheat bake

I'm ashamed I didn't make the chocolate dipped marengue myself but okay, shoot me, I bought them. I'm Martha Stewart ashamed....

I put on some nonstop as eyes and painted with black food coloring. Glued them on with icing.

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

Plastic bats, needle and a thread right through them. A hook at the end  (I used hooks from a curtain hanger, but you can just bend some steel wire).

I hang mine in the lamp. Looooooove my bats< 3

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

Damn this phone program only posting one of my pictures!
This was also supposed to show with the jars.

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

Cut out some red paper in a blood drippy way and put it under our letterbox.

Had some left over so I put it under the light switch.

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

Collected the kids snakes and spiders and put in different jars.
Added some flies on top.

They will all get label tags on them later  when I'm in front of my computer.

This can be made SO much better with adding colored water in the jars as well, but I'm not as dedicated this year and it's supposed to be fast crafting.

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

I had two chairs standing against a wall, kind of boring...
Put over a white sheet, covered the painting with paper and me and TeeBee went wild.
Happened to have a witches pot and one of my lovely sister Iva Insane hair dressers head laying around and together they made a good match!
Hang the bloody nightgown that you have all made of course after watching my YouTube video Bloody Nightgown. *right?* on the new bench.
It looks OK.

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

I was fortunate to have a dress hanger torso.
Put on a skirt, jacket, balloon on top with a pillow case over it and a rope around the neck.
Placed shoes at bottom and ta-daa I had someone to hang!

I will make a real hang man knot later, but I won't dare to do it now in case I get any ideas....

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

The wicked witch of the.... crushed on the floor.

I've seen many wonderful versions of this - all better than mine, but I'm in a hurry!

Stockings of choise, I like striped.

A pair of shoes.

A pair of buckles on a stretch band.

Filling (a real chopped of leg/shirt/pillow filling, towel...)

I filled mine with newspaper (that's why she's got so ugly legs).

Put the parts together and squeeze them under something to make it look like she got smashed!

I cut out a puddle of blood in red paper.Dark red velvet would have been better but I was out of stock.

I've seen people who dressed their table "legs" in stockings and put a shoe at the end. That's super cool!

In Sweden we don't celebrate Halloween like in US for example.  Often we just put a light on lost loved ones graves and had a bit of still evening.

But people here are catching up and we start to have Halloween parties a bit more like in the US, but it is still a bit "new".

Me and my friends have celebrated, or at least had scary masquerades for about 20 years, but it was not common back then and people looked very strange at us when we went out like scary clowns, ninjas,Death, Wednesday Addams, zombies, vampires and mummys. They stared more then usual *haha*

This year I will not attend a real Halloween party, just TeeBee 's Halloween Birthday party. But I'll try to make it cool.

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

An old lamp, a balloon on top, a white sheet, 2 "eyes " cut out of black fabric, 1 needle to pinch in the sheet.
Done!

Halloween 2011: Fast decor

2 black garbage bags and a shower curtain hang -flexible -thingy makes a cool entrance in under 5 minutes.

I just cut the bag open long sides, folded one end over the thingy put some tape on and dragged a scissor down and up as it was in place.

And now it looks like a slaughter house or a ghost house.

Took me longer to write this text then to make the curtain!

Best part: totally movable and reusable!

Halloween 2011: Vampire Bite cupcakes by DolceLuna

Here's another crazy cupcake idea! These were made by DolceLuna. Thank's for sharing!
I just love the blood comng out of those holes! Sweet!
Here are a few more on the same theme.

This is made of red velvet cake
(anyone have the best recipe with beetroot? I will not eat that much food color)
Cut off the top, dig a hole, fill with red jam, put top on, decorate!
