Adora BatBrat bargains

I'm known to drive my husband mad by buying stuff.
Useless stuff, as he put it ;(
But one thing he can't be mad about is the cost of all these findings.
I'm a REALLY cheap goth bitch!

Like today for instance; I went to the Red Cross second hand and bought 6 coffee cups with matching plates for 1 SEK each set! That's only $0.15! And the rest of the plates was also 1 SEK each.

The lovely bird trays was only 2 SEK each ($0.30), but they are not for me, I bought them for my friend L <3 p="p">They will go perfectly with her 50's green livingroom!
Oh, and the show piece, the UCG teapot, costed me a small fortune!
25 SEK ($3.77). How I love a good bargain!

Goth festival ahead

With only 3 weeks left for this M'era Luna festival in Hildesheim, Germany (Hanna, Raven, Sinja, Colin, Lotte, Evert, Ryan and the Italians and so on - will we meet you?) I'm getting a bit stressed out over the outfits. My God - what to wear??!

Me and my sister will not even try to be fabulous, because at German goth festivals that is near impossible. The people are super cool. We can only hope to look okay at the best.
Can one make the tooth fairy make me a dress?
Looking through some modelling shoots for goth alternative shop X-tra-X made me wanting a few things from them... This veil was so cute (not for M'era Luna, but for every-day-casual-wear), and the skirt was very comfy.

Duck tea

Although I'm a true carnivore I have never tried animal tea, and as I saw this rubber duck tea dispenser I just had to have it to be able to say I have duck tea for breakfast!

This is so "me"!
I bought it at Lagerhaus for 49 SEK.

Todays make up

You know the feeling when you just love your face - I had that today!I felt so Adora BatBrat <3
I'm quite happy about how I turned out today <3
The cute girls at daycare said I had my prettiest moment ever today. I even heard the word "princess".
They were most intrigued by my one green eye. How is that possible?! they said.

My own kids are never impressed.. -Mhm, so you have your lens on today *gasp*. What's for dinner?
Kind off like that.

Goth style by H&M

I just bought these lovely dot stockings at H&M.
I tried to make a goth Adora by using things in their webshop since I shop at H&M all of the time, but I was not able to add as many things at the same time as I wanted so it doesn't look at all as my style...only half done...
..but at least the stockings looks great on me!

Old picture of the day and Best buy

Demonia Trashville boots are the best!
Even as a pregnant girl they were so comfortable! I can really recommend everyone to get a pair - pregnant or not.
Look how effortless I carry Fairlight on my hip (and TeeBee in my tummy), just like an accessoire. All because of those shoes.

I have both the buckles and the "buck-less" (hahaha, what a lousy joke) ones, both in glossy, glossy.
I prefer the ones without buckles since it makes my legs look so much longer.
Buy them at X-tra-x for €99 here.
They also sell the buckle Trashvilles, €109.

Make up review: Liquid eyeliner (for goths)

I just stumbled across this LOVELY and thorough review on Liquid eyeliners.
Since it's so good I just publish it here as well.

Best Liquid Eyeliners
by Reika on July 12, 2011

Nothing defines my eyes better than the use of an intense black eyeliner – it is something I cannot live without since high school! I am always on the hunt for the best, blackest and smoothest black liquid eyeliner. I have tried tons of them from the most expensive brands to the most affordable. This post is going to be a comparison of some of the best liquid eyeliners that I have tried so far, and the good news is..most of them are drugstore brands and cost less $12 bucks!

All of these eyeliners are intensely black. They all have a fine tip which allows for easy application and gives a precise and clean line. They go on smoothly and fluidly without smudging and last all day.

From Left to Right:
1. Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black: felt tip
2. Majolica Perfect Automatic Liner in BK999: brush tip
3. Koji Linequeen in Strong Black: brush tip
4. MAC Superslick Liquid Eye Liner in On The Hunt: felt tip
5. K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h in 01 (best seller in one of the biggest Japanese drugstores): has a brush tip and claims that it wears like a tattoo for 24 hrs
Battle 1: THE FINEST TIP

Winner: Koji Linequeen has the most ultra fine tip of only 0.1mm – perfect for defining the winged look precisely. (shown in the far right)
Runner Up: K-Palette Real Lasting Eyeliner 24h (shown 2nd from the right)
Battle 2: THE BLACKEST BLACK – tested with swatching each eyeliner with only 1 stroke at the same pressure

Winner: Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Deep Black
Runner Ups: MAC ties with Majolica
Battle 3: MOST SMUDGE PROOF – tested with rubbing my fingers over them several times

Winner: Majolica Perfect Automatic Liner - the opacity stays the same while the rest show signs of fading.
Worst Performance: MAC – the only one that starts to flake off.
Battle 4: MOST WATERPROOF – tested with spraying water over them

Winners: All good except for K-Palette
Worst Performance: K-Palette starts to come off as soon as it touches the water
Battle 5: BEST STAYING POWER – swiping them off using a cotton pad

Winner: Dolly Wink
Runner Up: K-Palette – although the color has faded you can still see the remnant (“the tattoo effect”) in a smooth line
Battle 6: EASIEST TO REMOVE -removed them using Bioderma Sensibio H2O Crealine Cleanser

Winners: All good except for K-Palette
Worst Performance: K-Palette: it definitely wears like a tattoo
Price:
MAC: >$30 in Australia (cannot remember the exact price)

The rest of the brands: <$15

I know we are all looking for different qualities from an eyeliner. I hope this post would help if you are interested in any of these brands. After years of experimenting I really think there is no point of spending more than $15 on a liquid eyeliner. The drugstore brands, especially the Japanese ones are just as good. As for me, hands down, I would repurchase Dolly Wink and Majolica over and over. They are the best!

Thank you Reika for this extraordinary review.

I also found this comparison between Dolly Wink and Kiss Me Heroine Make eyeliner:
By Miss Joyce.

"There's a HUGE problem with Dolly Wink...Due to exams, I have been taking naps whenever I can to catch up on sleep. I slept with my eyeliner on since it said its waterproof and sweat-proof. I always did this with my Heroine Make eyeliner and I look perfectly fine when I wake up. But Dolly Wink was smudged and faded and basically gone. So, it's not grease-proof like Heroine Make."

By Adora BatBrat: For perfect goth make up a liquid eyeliner is a must.
I might add that I have not used any of those liquid eyeliners before (since I have not seen them in Sweden yet) but the ones I use and is VERY pleased by is:

.: MAC Fluidline Blacktrack - I use it on my waterline and inner and outer sides of my eyes (every day) since it's waterproof, don't smudge and stays super black. Can't use it for delicate work though since it's too thick, like a paste more. BUT - you can use a blowdryer over it a couple of times to make it more liquid to perform delicate work.

.: Kryolan Cake eyeliner with Kryolan CEL sealer - I use this with an aquarelle brush (every day) to paint my swirls, painted on eyebrows and over and under my eyes. It's waterproof and does not rub off when cuddling or taking a powernap :) I have not used it on my waterline or close to the "wet areas" of my eyes, so I have no idea of how that will work. I just stuck with my MAC on those places since it works perfectly. Also -the Kryolan CEL Sealer can be used with most eyeshadows to make any color waterproof eyeliners.

.: IsaDora Glossy eyeliner Waterproof - This is my "lazy liner". I use it when ever in a hurry, but I should really use it more often since it is so black, and leave a glossy finish. I do use it on top of my other eyeliners sometimes, just to get that shiny effect. It is definately waterproof and pretty.
I would like to make a review myself, with the other IsaDora eyeliners:
IsaDora Fine Liner Eye stylo and
IsaDora Flex Tip eyeliner. Perhaps I will find myself a new favorite?

I hope this helped some of you out :)

"Goth" gadgets: Candy blox

Well, this isn't a real "goth" item,  but since I'm a huge Lego-fan I decided everyone else who is goth loves Lego too. I simply putting down my foot saying it's so.
I can always claim that most goths are extremly creative, therefore we love Lego. And we are also fond of destruction - therefore we love Lego. The inventer of Lego must have been goth! Yeah, I will decide that.

Annnnyyyy whooo, I JUST discovered this amazing candy (you should not eat candy, but if you do, choose the impressive stuff). Lego candy!!!
The Lego company wasn't clever enough to come up with this idea themselves so they are called Candy Blox instead...but sure, it's a ripoff.
I've never seen them in Sweden.
They should make black liquorice ones as well, real goth candy.

Reader Recommendation: MandaLynn

MandaLynn was sweet enough to share this über cool dip bowl etc.
I especially like the knife with the bat handle!
If I'm ever to be stabbed by a knife, I sure hope it will be a stylish one like this.
Here's the link she sent me.
Thank's a lot MandaLynn!

Sleeping with goth's: Goth gadgets

When you position yourself in the coffin pose every night (or day for those who can't enter the light) you want to sleep in style.
With those new completely dark drapers we don't even need a coffin any more so we can enjoy having a stylish bed and lovely linen.

Spiderweb is something you never can go wrong with, but personally I would have prefered a white with black webs. I'm sure that's available somewhere.

These are from Sin in Linen and can be bought for $79 HERE.
I have an old classic bed from IKEA (this is from my previous apartment). I also made a matching gantry to make it a canopy bed (in the 90's there were no such beds to get hold of here in Sweden so I had to make my own..)
About half of my friend group have the same one... I really, really like it.
Two of the 3 kids was made in it, that's how good it is!

BUT if I have had not this bed I'd love to be in bed with one of these:
From Wrought Iron Furniture . But what's with the bedding?! Whooa, those "normal" people are just SO scary!
This is my favorite amongst the group!
An all white bedroom and some blood squirts (fake, if you wish) over the linen and the walls.Wow, it would be so incredible!

This bed is so pricy I would probably scream myself to sleep every evening, but it is pretty!
It's a Tennyson bed from And So To Bed. Can be bought for $4000 (?) and above if I'm not mistaken.

Not liking the rest of the room, just the bed. To me it looks a bit like Flander's bedroom with those curtains and stuff. Like seriously religious instead of cool goth. But the bed itself looks lovely.
At Corsican you can look at 2545 different kinds of beds, many beautiful goth worthy, but I have no idea where to buy them :(
But you can't write about gothic beds and not mention Newtons over the top beds!
What little goth girl have not dreamed of having adventures with another dark soul in this roubust bed.
Newtons Versailles Noir bed can be bought HERE for this months special price £799.
In my apartment this fantastic piece would unfortunately not look so good since the rooms are quite small, but a girl can dream, can't she?

Our kids have this kinds of adjustable beds: all from IKEA.
It seems to still be available HERE for £74.99.
Bed "Minnen". Synthia's is the same, but in black.
This is the style of TeeBee's bed (but not his actual bed). I love the "prison" feeling to it. Perhaps he does not...
This one seems to be available HERE for $115.

All their rooms are getting a slight make over now when the Christmas things are out.
Fairlight wants a Candy room, Synthia a Jungle room, and TeeBee is not yet decided on if he wants a Robot room, an Aeroplane room or an Aqua room. I hope he goes for a Robot room!

The kids all have their own room, but if they were supposed to share a room I would so go for this one!
Prettiest bunk bed I've ever seen.
I love all you designers that makes life so much more beautiful <3 Thank's!

And all of you creative people out there:
You can just buy some MDF board, and paint the style of the bedhead, incredible cheaper but still cool! Or buy this very light, but thick, aluminum metal wire and shape it. It will not be as sustainable but it may achieve the right look.

Sleep tight, (don't) let the vampire goths bite!

Gothic item: Octupus lamp

In my mind I live in a wonderful, scary castle filled with amazing designed goth items (instead of this white, white and white apartment mostly designed to carry as much stuff in the smallest area possible).

GetBentMetal on Etsy.com. Price: $1,500.00 CAD Buy it HERE.
In my "mind home" this lamp will have a certain place.
Sure, a "bit" costly, but to my fortune, my mind home also carries a huge "mind account".
I love this idea! I'm not a huge octupus fan in general, but this I just can't resist!
It got all of it's 8 arms wrapped around me!
