Valentine's cake: do's and don'ts

A Valentine's cake should NOT look like this - this is horrific, it will sure end that realtionship! It's a disaster!
I just stumbled across this on the web looking for a nice heart shape.
One might think this is during the process or by a child...but the scary thing is it's not! This is the finished product of a grown woman! Following her process was almost painful.
I can't be a total bitch about it though, because the person who did it did it for a sweet reason, and hearts can never be wrong.
But perhaps I can give her a few ideas on how they can look..., just to be nice (not my beautiful works unfortunately)

"K" as in "kärlek", the swedish word for love
But remember, even if those cakes are beautiful, they might still taste like ass, and that slaugher-looking excuse of a cake can taste like pure heaven.
But I love beautiful things and would easily choose the pretty cake every time.
(How awful of me to publish this when there is people on Phase 1....*sorry* But soon you can eat cake again - and NOT gain weight)

Goth gadgets - blood

I once caught a human, sliced his neck and someone made a necklace of that cut! Can be found at VonErickson's Esty for $15.00 USD.
I left the body bleeding on my floor for a while.
I then brought the body to the table and chopped it up real good since it's a known fact goths like to kill and make collops from other humans. The good thing about this table is you can really carve someone to pieces without it being showed. Made by John Nouanesing.
oh, and look was was left laying on the floor later! Better make some use to it. Buy here for $18.99.
I managed to make a big mess when I cleaned myself too. The mat ($14.99) and the curtain ($14.99) must be thrown away now.
Tired now, must sleep...(£14.95)
just gonna kill the lights first

Montignac Method lunch

According to Mr Montignac lunch should be the days fattest meal (but you should still be moderate in Phase 1).
Here's an example of a Phase 1 lunch (don't forget to have a fruit 20 minutes before):
and again - as much as you want
  • sausage with a meet percentage above 80%
  • red onion
  • mushrooms
  • ruccola
  • cucumber
  • green olives
  • sun dried tomatoes

  • crisp bread served with
  • philadelphia
  • fried egg
If you rather want to have beans/peas/lentils/fullgrain pasta or bulgur in this meal you have to remove the sausage and philadelphia.
This dish can be changed for eternity.

Fat + fibres are ok (sausage, Philadephia + veggies, egg, crisp bread, mushrooms) or
Carbohydrates + fibres are ok (beans, peas, fullgrain pasta and so on + veggies, egg, crisp bread, mushrooms).
The no-no is: Fat + carbohydrates.

Montignac Method vs anorexia nervosa

Forgot to mention - I'm not on the Montignac Method to loose weight. I am skinny enough.
But I used the Phase 1 every time to loose my weight after the pregnancies, and by this method alone (no additional training) I've lost a total of (are you ready?) 56 kilos! That is more than my weight today! I've lost a whole me by just changing my diet! 13+21+22=56 kilos.
(And for those who wonders: No, my kids don't eat according to Montignac)

First when I started out 10 years ago it was because I got an gastric catarrh and needed to stop eating crazy amounts of crisps and potatoe gratins flowing over with cream all day long (and I wanted my husband to be that skinny bitch he was when we met).
I was for real a crisp junkie. I had my stashes all over the place. And this is no joke!

I needed to find a way to still be able to eat like the horse my friends thinks I am (I don't know how, but I can eat more than a grown man - easily!) and get rid of that catarrh at the same time. And, ta-daa, my friend Mr N introduced us to the father of all GI-diets -Mr Montignac.

I like to look like an anorexic - without being one. <------Very important!
I'm totally honest, the skinny, on the verge to anorexic (not skin over skeleton) is a look that appeals to me (we all have different preferences, that's mine). But I would NEVER stop eating! And, I am naturally slim, so are both my parents.
Many girls wants to be skinnier (for whatever the reason) and I sure as hell rather see them loose their weight with the Montignac Method eating healthy than to stop eating and develop anorexia. You can thank me later, moms.
I'm a living (healthier) proof to that you still can be skinny without stop eating.

I've seen my pictures on "thinspiration"-sites and videos, and that's a bit scary, I can only just hope that people know I'm skinny because I eat, not because I don't.

Being an anorexic is a horrible, horrible desease that slowly kills you, and if you survive back you have damaged your inner organs and brain in ways that might not show until later in life.
You can become "sober", but unlike an alcoholic that just have to stay away from alcohol the rest of their life, you can't stay away from food. You will have to live with your disease everytime you eat.

I know an elderly lady that starved herself in the youth (because she was living a glitterati lifestyle as a dancer) and she's got permanent back pain (because of osteoporosis) causing her to bend foward as she walks, a tummy that can't hold her food causing either constipation or diarrea (yes, girls, that's the future. Like wearing diapers?) and damage on her short time memory. According to her doctor because of the many years of anorexia.
I can't tell you enough how many times she'd told me that if she could turn back time she wouldn't starved herself in the youth knowing this would be the future...she is very sad about this.

I can't tell you not to loose weight, because if you want to you will only do it another way so I will give you what I consider a good method.
A lot more can be said about anorexia, but I'll leave it like this for now.

I know I'm very controversial saying I like to look anorexic, but I can only just hope I'm allowed to tell the truth on how my mind works (I will be sooo whipped because of this...). Oh well...

Look how skinny I've became with the Montignac Method only 1½ weeks into the change of eating ;)
The skeleton shirt of course helps a bit...

I have definitly reached my "color limit" for this week with this ensemble. I'm like a rainbow of colors ;)

Old picture of the day

Let's see what we can shake up?
2005, when I was pregnant with Fairlight

Montignac Method basics

(I've copied parts of one of my earlier inlays.)
There is
  • Phase 1 - the weightloss phase, and
  • Phase 2 - the stabilisation phase
At Phase 1 (and always) you should start every meal with about ½-1 apple/pear or some berries etc. Why? To prevent the blood sugar fall you get after a dinner when your body concentrates on to take care of the new food. This causes you to want some sugar since your body starts feeling slow. By adding a bit of a sugar-rush in advance, you won't get that craving.
The big nono's are:
  • potatoes
  • white rice and pasta, couscous
  • boiled carrots
  • corn
  • (grapes, water melon)
  • everything containing wheat flour
  • NO sugar OR sweetener (candy, soda, juice, cakes, bread, honey, glucose....)
  • alcohol
  • light products (better use the real thing - if you must)
  • coffee/tea (or at least less)
  • nothing with carbohydrate over 30 in Phase 1 (or 50 in Phase 2). I usually go by 30, because I'm done with it quicker and can get back to eating those cream sauces I like in Phase 2 :)
  • (no extra fat at Phase 1 except for lunch)
And. as I said, no counting. If you want to eat 11 beef steakes with broccoli - go for it. The point is to eat until you feel full.

I keep the fat level down in Phase 1, so a normal dinner can be homemade beef, tomatosauce made from ovenbaked tomatoes with red paprika and red onions with a pinch of garlic and fresh basil that's been mixed to a sauce, served with boiled broccoli and mixed fresh salad (if in Phase 2 I add a dijon cream sauce).

According to Mr. Montignac lunch should be the days fattest meal. So an omelette with tomatoes, spring onion, muschrooms, ruccola and cheese is a good lunch, or crisp bread with philadelphia, ham, eggs, tomatoe or something like that - as many as you need to feel full.

Important: your brain needs fat, so by eating "no" fat in Phase 1 that's not really true. Meat contains fat, and you can eat plain cream or creme fraiche sauce (moderatly in Phase 1) if you want. As long as you don't mix fat with carbohydrates you're fine.
We wanna loose weight, not become stupid.
7-8 months after my second pregnancy
I mostly eat fat and fibres (you can also eat fibres and carbohydrates - but absolutley NO fat (meat, cream) to that). And since I'm at Phase 2 I can slip in a cupcake/applepie slice/chocolate truffles every now and then without getting bigger. Phase 2 is for life so to speak :)

More modelling pictures for The House of Wade Lee

This is almost the same as the other one. So many of the pictures turned out great (strangely enough!). Although this is not my "normal" style, I still think they got that dreamy, loving look I was aiming for.

Vanilla Friday

Hmm, what kind of Friday do I wanna have today, I thought standing in front of my tea box?
I know - a vanilla Friday. I've never had a vanilla Friday before, just Saturdays.
This might turn out to be an interesting day indeed!
I'm so nervous about this Vanilla Friday I can't take a steady picture...

Here is the last, and final, picture from the 4 hair bows I did for The House of Wade Lee.
It goes great with my purple hair don't you think :)

Dental make up

Well, yeah, I have been known to paint on my teeth on occation but that is not what I'm talking about right now.
Purple eyebrows, M.A.C. blacktrack fluidline, pastel pink and white and black eyeshadow, blue IsaDora shadow under the eye and Viva la Diva glitter in green and blue on top of blue shadow
As we know dentists are known for using instruments that showers your whole face with water, and then rubs their arms in the eyebrow area leaving you look like a disco chic on her way home on a Sunday morning..so dental make up must be able to withstand that.

The best thing is to not paint any eyebrows at all, or in very light colors, and then use waterproof eyeliner and mascara on the eyes - and for God's sake - NO lipstick (put it in your bag and paint it on after)! Unless you want to look like Marilyn Manson (that is very cool) but not on me for a day-to-day make up.
Last time I had only black shadow around my eyes, looking like Uncle Fester ;)
The first dental make up?

Poor Porsche

With the risk of sounding like an old cat woman I took Porsche to the vet today. He's got some...ehh..poo problems, it's a bit too squashy. So he had to take a blood test.
Oh wow, he screamed like a monster! Fairlight started crying because she was so afraid he got hurt.
All of a sudden he got loose of the grip and knocked out some of the blood so it got all over the room, as well as in the vet's face! It looked like a scene from CSI when we left! (and my blood instinkt made me crazy, even though it wasn't human *haha*)
Poor Porsche with his bandage
But as soon as they were done he was back to his cuddly self again.
Tomorrow I will have the honour to scoop up some of his poo, put in in my bag and drive to the veterinary station. What a treat that willl be!

Montignac Method rules

There are a few technical details I leave out because it will make my writing like a whole damn book otherwise. I just give you the contents, and some small explanations.
  1. Always eat a fresh fruit 20 minutes before every meal (again - as much as you like). I have a 1/4 of a Fuji apple (they are BIG). Example: apple, pear, orange, kiwi, mango, most berries etc.
This is for every breakfast, lunch and dinner.

WHY? If you eat the fruit before food you will avoid getting that low blood sugar you get when your body is all focused on processing the new food after eating, and will not give you the urge to have something sweet afterwards. Know the feeling? A very smart idea if you easy get headaches because of low blood sugar.

And yes, I only eat them because they are pink :)

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone <3
It's also TeeBee's name-day (TeeBee Valentin Charles Emil) - congrats sweetie!
I have the table set and the sponge cake is in the oven smelling delightful.
We have invited my husbands parents over for dinner tonight and the kids made up the meny together, so we'll start with a :
  • heart shaped sandwich (full grain for Montignac) with eggs, mayoannise, shrimps and dill.
Then on for the main course and the dessert:
  • Creme fraiche and dijon ovenbaked salmon (oven 150-175 degrees Celsius until salmon have an inner temperature of 50-54 degrees for best result)
  • Dill and creme fraiche sauce
  • potatoes, green asparagus/broccoli
  • For dessert a Heart Shaped orange sponge cake filled with strawberries and cream with vanilla (for Montignac: oven/micro baked apples with cinnamonon and lightly whipped cream)
I hope you all feel loved today. If you feel like noone else loves you, then I will! I send my best heart-warming hugs for each and everyone <3 <3 <3 Remember to spread some love too

Old picture of the day

Sometimes I stumble over old pictures that I really like. This is one! It's from 2001...many, maaany years before all of those rockabilly chicks (here in Sweden) started to wear rolled up bangs like this. Sometimes I think I'm in a fucking Truman show ;) Just kidding... and I just had my bangs like this because I was afraid to cut it short because of my swirl at the forhead. But now I know a trick!

Montignac Method basics

This upcoming week is my interpretation of the Montignac Method. I started it 10 years ago, so it might be that this method changed slightly over the years.

The method is a low glycemic index (low GI) way of eating, devided into Phase 1 (the weight losing phase) and Phase 2 (stabilisizing the weight. This is where I am now).
It sounds more complicated than it is, I can assure you!

A few things you must buy home to succeed smoothly:
  • dark chocolate with >70% cacao
  • plain nuts (peanuts, almonds, pistachio, hazelnut)
  • headache pills
Why this? When your body all of a sudden gets off the drug (sugar/carbohydrates) your body will get abstinence and react with headache. And the chocolate and nuts is if you used to be a middle-in-the-night-snacker. Then you will at least have something better to eat if you must.

The Montignac concept from his page.

In Phase 1 you will eat things with GI under 35 (I'll guide you through it the best I can).
The Montignac page have a quicky where you can write in the product and you will get the GI at once. Here.

You do NOT have to change your ordinary coocking that much, just adjust it a bit. You are allowed to eat as much as you please and you will loose weight while eating.

As an example: I like to eat spaghetti and mincemeat sauce. In Phase 1 I changed the spaghetti to broccoli/green salad and that was it! My mincedmeat sauce already was "Montignac-safe" containing only minced meat, chopped onions, crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper.
As I reached my weight I simply added some fullgrain spaghetti to the equation and kept the broccoli with the sause.

You should eat (according to Montignac):
fat and fibres
OR
carbohydrates and fibres
NEVER
carbohydrates and fat together. Not so difficult.

Bollywood make up

Tonight our hosts in our gourmand dinner club "The Bite Club" had Bollywood as a theme, so as the good guest I am I tried to do my best with the things I had at home :)
I am nowhere near the beauty of those Indian women, but I still felt very beautiful. Ever since I was a child I have loved those wonderful India-women with their jewels and make up. I think we have all admired them...
I was even more brown in real life, the picture didn't make it justice

And yeah, the food was sooo amazing. My belly is more of a balloon now, filled with lots of dishes I can't pronounce :)

The Adorable Heart blouse

I just got a mail with pictures from the factory with my first design! The signature blouse.
They made the blouse so perfect! I'm very happy with the result, and can't wait to get it in my snail mail.
I just have one comment, I think the heart is a bit too big though, but just a little. Perhaps it looks different on.
The lace on the collar will hopefully be the same as on the original blouse when produced.

I have already gotten 72 people on a waitinglist saying they are interested in this item (they will get first hand) - and we will only make 100, so that is fantastic :) Since we produce in small amounts and use good quality on the fabrics it will cost about $100 USD/€74/650 SEK.
I will wear my blouse every day :) Even my sweet extra-mum want's one!

Valentines crafting at school

As a class mum I today had the Valentine crafting for the kids and their familys. It was so much fun, and everybody was so happy crafting. It's true - crafting is good for the soul :)
I had them make place cards, hug/love cards and Vintage magnet cards.
Here's the cute magnets
The very easy to make, but oh, so wonderful place cards
and the most lovely card you can ever imagine.
The outside: (says "I love you")
The inside:
(says "this much")
And this was my look of the evening:
Haha, I can't smile any bigger because I still have one of my fangs missing. But tomorrow at 10.30 I have a dental appointment with Mr V. So hopefully I'll have a fang-tastic weekend :)
And yeah, of course I made them all cupcakes
(they are not that perfect since I had to put on the frosting then and there)

Montignac Method part 1

START-UP
If you will be successfull loosing weight you need The shame-factor.
After every pregnancy when I had about 22 kilos extra I had my weight loss published every week on a swedish forum where I had many followers. It made me think everytime I wanted to "cheat" that I would be so embarassed...
  1. Choose a Shame-factor. You can leave a weight loss table at work/publish it at Facebook or here. It must be really embarrassing if you fail.
  2. Make a table containing: your current stats on top, date/week count, current weight, total weight lost, this weeks weight loss, (kilos left)
  3. Next Tuesday morning, the 15'th), before breakfast you will weigh yourself. (You might also measure your waist and thighs)
  4. Every Friday before breakfast you make a new weight - ONLY on Fridays.
This is mine from when I lost weight after TeeBee:
Adora info:
Height: 177 cm
Goal : 53,3 kg (the weight I had before my pregnancy)
Start weight: 75,2 kg (+21,9 kg)
(This was after a pregnancy, that's why there was this flying start)
1 weeks: 66,5 kg (-8,7 kg)
2 weeks: 66,0 kg (-9,2 kg)
3 weeks: 65,3 (-9,9 kg)
4 weeks: 65,4 (-9,8 kg) What the hell!
5 weeks: 65,2 (-10 kg)
6 weeks: 64,4 (-10,8 kg)
Christmas!!!
8 weeks: 64,8 (-10,4 kg) +0,4 kg
9 weeks: 64.4 (-10,8 kg again...) -400 g
10 weeks: 63,0 kg (-12,2 kg) -1,4 kg
11 weeks: 62,4 kg (-12,8 kg) -600 g
12 weeks: 61,2 kg (-14,0 kg) -1,2 kg
snip snip
35 weeks: 53,0 kg (-22,2 kg) - 1,0 kg DONE!!

Now we have covered the first step.

Wanna loose weight?

Next Tuesday I'm gonna start you up on the Montignac Method (good to loose weight, but also good for already satisfied bodytypes since it's a healthy way to eat).
I've eaten according to Montignac for about 10 years, and I didn't start it to loose weight, but because I got a gastric catarrh and needed to change my way of eating.
I was a crisp-o-holic and ate 300 grams of crisps every weekend for about a year. I was in it bad, I was one needle away to go down the gutter and be a real crisp-druggie. After that torture my stomach said - no more of this shit and self-cutted.
Also...I though my husband was a bit too...ehh..large? I only like skinny bitches so for me to keep loving him he needed to ditch that extra weight faster then a bra in the wrong bedroom.
But I can't blame him on adding a few kilos - it was my cooking that put him there... me and my potatoe gratin overflowing with cream. So I needed to be punished as well.

It was our friend Mr N that told us about this method all of the nerds at his computer company did, loosing weight while sitting on their asses. Suited me just fine since I hate moving around for nothing.
Bought the book, changed my way to cook.
I will try to guide you as good as I can. Join me!
