Weekly style: The Anadin Brothers: GOSSIP

The gorgeous girs left the band in the mid-Nineties.
Colette is now a yoga teacher and works as a body double in films for the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow (wow - she must have a fab body!). Wendi is the "Doctor's" wife and gave birth to their four kids.

Friday: Funeral

Friday:
Today I'm on my grandma (dads mum) Viola's funeral :(
Unfortunately I never met her that often since my parents split up when I was 3 years, and I only visited my dad every second weekend, and we rarely went to see his parents who lived outside of town.

But my memories of her is she was a kind person with a soft smile on her, had a wonderful name (our daughter Synthia is named Viola in second name), loved purple and always wore amber jewels. She was a diabetic so she baked this kind of soft pretzel with low sugar. I baked them the day after she died, and we decided to name them Viola Pretzels forever after. She had a good life with grandpa, who died about 2 years ago. My father and his wife was with her when she silently passed away and that really makes it feel better. I know she could feel their love <3

Weekly style: The Anadin Brothers: HISTORY

Anadin is a brand of painkillers sold in the UK.
According to what I've found their make up is "kabuki" make up. Kabuki is the highly stylized classical Japanese dance-drama. Kabuki theatre is known for the stylization of it's drama and for the elaborate make-up. Kabuki is sometimes translated as "the art of singing and dancing".

According to Wikipedia "Their unique performances were extremely well synchronised and featured highly characteristic moves, these were influenced by the fact that the duo had previously competed together as synchronised swimmers". Well, what do you know!

Weekly style: The Anadin Brothers

"The Anadin Brothers" were the girls Colette Appleby and Wendi West; back up singers and dancers of "Doctor and the Medics" (the real stars of the band if you ask me). I wanted to be them.
Here in white hair:
I saw them at a TV live show in the mid 80's and they were a total WOW-factor to me! Two fab goth girls with long, black hair to their knees and heavy bangs. The make up was total white with lots of black around the eyes and 3 long black stripes from their eyes to their chin almost. They had a Morticia rip-off dress in white. I often think about them. They have always been my inspiration on to think that make up should not only be around the eyes, but can be used in the whole face. I'm a total fan!
Puh, just got back! I've been to swim school with my kids, then straight to a 4 hour class about starting a company. Tonight was a very interesting class, mainly about economi, and I love that!
Now I'm gonna eat some brie and finn crisp - fibre and fat!

Before bedtime I'm gonna reveal this weeks style.

Montignac-diet

Lunch should be the days fattest meal (I follow the fat and fibre-version most. There is one carbohydrate and fibre too - with absolutely NO fat!).
I'm on Phase 1 so I don't eat that much fat. Here's mine today.

Lemon marinated salmon and schrimps, avocado, finn crisp with brie and one hard bread with butter and eggs, and 3 deciliters of water.

Montignac-diet

20 minutes before every meal eat some fruit (apple, pear, berries, kiwi).
Why? By eating it before a meal, it raises your blood sugar level and will not give you the blood fall after the meal - the one that makes you go and put your hand in the cookie jar!

I'm hooked on Fuji apples. And since they are humungous I only eat 1/4.

BatBrat's gone fat!

I've lived a bit too good lately so it's time to shape up. At my age it goes fast downhill....
My scale pointed on 54,6 kilos Friday! Mercy, mercy me. I cant weigh over 53, then nothing in my wardrobe fits. I'm having trouble now, and is searching for stretch.

It's time for some hard-Montignac!

Weekly style: Morticia

I tried my best at the Morticia-look.
I, myself, is not so happy about wearing that little amount of make up, but the clothing style I really love!

BUT - remember, you don't have to do the style exactly like her, you can make it your own version.
I love lace and also I think that a corset it hot to wear to the style. I still think you can see who I'm aiming to look like?

Next week we will continue a bit more on the "old" goth style (as it were here in Sweden in the 80's).

Weekly style: Morticia: CLOTHES

Morticia, with that tiny, tiny body wears a tight, fullblack dress with elf sleeves and octupus arms at the bottom. Of cause that's not so practical for every day, but the general idea is slim and long clothing.
Wear:
long black skirt; tight on top and wider at the bottom
shirt with long arms that shows some cleavage
(if you want: add a black corset)
a nice necklace
a black (or many) gothic ring(s)

If you don't have any elf sleeves on your shirt you can just tie long black ribbons around your wrist to make it a bit more interesting.

Saturdays means re-coloring my hair.

Now I use Directions "Violet" and mix it with conditioner to get the pale purple I like. I let it set for only 15 minutes, that's enough since I do it every week. BUT - the Directions colors get sun bleached! So I start out the week a bit too purple, by Wednesday it's perfect and by Saturday it's too pale.

I've left my left side out and use the Directions "Silver" there every 3'rd week, so I'm white underneath on that side. Don't know why yet, but I thought it was a good idea...?
The blue was more difficult, it needed 30 minutes to stick to my hair.

Friday dinner

I'm currently making the red wine sauce for tonights dinner. Now it's reducing. My flat smells like a wino!
(Google "wino" and you will just find Amy Winehouse)

Here's the menu:
Appetizer: tomatosoup spiced with garlic and fresh basil
Main Course: black pepper steak with garlic butter, red wine sauce, oven baked vegetables (broccoli, onion, paprika, muschroom), fresh salad
(so far it's an ok Montignac dinner (the diet I follow).)
Dessert: Friday's we always have icecream for the kids. We might take an irish coffee instead.

Weekly style: Morticia: GOSSIP

She gave herself a glamour girl perfect nose. See the before and after pictures. And I thought she had that cute as a button nose herself ;(

Yesterday TeeBee's Jack Skellington ear cushion (is it right?) dropped into our postbox! He got so happy!
I bought it at tradera.se for 129 SEK with freight ($16,3), the swedish e-bay, so unfortunally I can't tell you where you can buy them.
Thank's for the etsy-tip! I've had my eyes on it for a while, but I wanted my own webshop. But now, since it doesn't work I should perhaps try that for the time beeing. I always thought they wanted to many percent of my profit...but perhaps they are ok? I will definitly check it out again. Thanks <3

Weekly style: Morticia: LIPS

As the show is in black and white, one might still recognice Morticia is wearing a more pale red, perhaps a tiny bit towards the orange, because this was the fashion at the time. I believe so since the lips are not that dark. You might also see the same in her nails.

I myself prefer a more red going towards cerise. For this style I recommend the same color as Elizabeth Arden's Cranberry Cream 02.
I do NOT recommend Elizabeth Arden itself - it's overprized and make my lips dry. But this color is perfect for my skintone. Buy a cheap and good one instead. I bought mine on sale - otherwise I'd nerver would have bought it.

As lipliner I recommend Maybelline 54 Bordeaux. This is a perfect liner to the color in the Arden lipstick. Cheap too.

I just applyed a sommer job at the Systembolaget (the only place in Sweden where we can buy alcohol - they don't trust the swedish people enough to have alcohol in ordinary stores). I'd love to work there! And I live on top of the store as well :)

My blog's been psycho on me all morning - finally I can write!

Today I've been cutting and sewing all morning, then I had to take a nap (I'm still sick). I'm making more BatBrat CatHat's.

The webshop is still unable, but I can make stuff anyway. Worst scenario is that I have to sell them via Facebook or something until shop is ready.

For Saturday we will nail this style, ok?
So far I've covered the hair and the brows.
Tomorrow I'll continue the work on how to nail Morticias perfect goth look.

Now, since I'm sick I'm gonna hit the bed real soon... Before 22!!!
