Montignac Method basics

This upcoming week is my interpretation of the Montignac Method. I started it 10 years ago, so it might be that this method changed slightly over the years.

The method is a low glycemic index (low GI) way of eating, devided into Phase 1 (the weight losing phase) and Phase 2 (stabilisizing the weight. This is where I am now).
It sounds more complicated than it is, I can assure you!

A few things you must buy home to succeed smoothly:
  • dark chocolate with >70% cacao
  • plain nuts (peanuts, almonds, pistachio, hazelnut)
  • headache pills
Why this? When your body all of a sudden gets off the drug (sugar/carbohydrates) your body will get abstinence and react with headache. And the chocolate and nuts is if you used to be a middle-in-the-night-snacker. Then you will at least have something better to eat if you must.

The Montignac concept from his page.

In Phase 1 you will eat things with GI under 35 (I'll guide you through it the best I can).
The Montignac page have a quicky where you can write in the product and you will get the GI at once. Here.

You do NOT have to change your ordinary coocking that much, just adjust it a bit. You are allowed to eat as much as you please and you will loose weight while eating.

As an example: I like to eat spaghetti and mincemeat sauce. In Phase 1 I changed the spaghetti to broccoli/green salad and that was it! My mincedmeat sauce already was "Montignac-safe" containing only minced meat, chopped onions, crushed tomatoes, salt and pepper.
As I reached my weight I simply added some fullgrain spaghetti to the equation and kept the broccoli with the sause.

You should eat (according to Montignac):
fat and fibres
OR
carbohydrates and fibres
NEVER
carbohydrates and fat together. Not so difficult.

Bollywood make up

Tonight our hosts in our gourmand dinner club "The Bite Club" had Bollywood as a theme, so as the good guest I am I tried to do my best with the things I had at home :)
I am nowhere near the beauty of those Indian women, but I still felt very beautiful. Ever since I was a child I have loved those wonderful India-women with their jewels and make up. I think we have all admired them...
I was even more brown in real life, the picture didn't make it justice

And yeah, the food was sooo amazing. My belly is more of a balloon now, filled with lots of dishes I can't pronounce :)

Ksenia Mikhaylova design

Today I got these wonderful items in my mail for me to model for Ksenia. They all look so delicate, and the best thing is it matches any of my hair colors :) And what can I say about the bat brooche, she better stock up on those. They are wonderful!

The Adorable Heart blouse

I just got a mail with pictures from the factory with my first design! The signature blouse.
They made the blouse so perfect! I'm very happy with the result, and can't wait to get it in my snail mail.
I just have one comment, I think the heart is a bit too big though, but just a little. Perhaps it looks different on.
The lace on the collar will hopefully be the same as on the original blouse when produced.

I have already gotten 72 people on a waitinglist saying they are interested in this item (they will get first hand) - and we will only make 100, so that is fantastic :) Since we produce in small amounts and use good quality on the fabrics it will cost about $100 USD/€74/650 SEK.
I will wear my blouse every day :) Even my sweet extra-mum want's one!

Valentines crafting at school

As a class mum I today had the Valentine crafting for the kids and their familys. It was so much fun, and everybody was so happy crafting. It's true - crafting is good for the soul :)
I had them make place cards, hug/love cards and Vintage magnet cards.
Here's the cute magnets
The very easy to make, but oh, so wonderful place cards
and the most lovely card you can ever imagine.
The outside: (says "I love you")
The inside:
(says "this much")
And this was my look of the evening:
Haha, I can't smile any bigger because I still have one of my fangs missing. But tomorrow at 10.30 I have a dental appointment with Mr V. So hopefully I'll have a fang-tastic weekend :)
And yeah, of course I made them all cupcakes
(they are not that perfect since I had to put on the frosting then and there)

Montignac Method part 1

START-UP
If you will be successfull loosing weight you need The shame-factor.
After every pregnancy when I had about 22 kilos extra I had my weight loss published every week on a swedish forum where I had many followers. It made me think everytime I wanted to "cheat" that I would be so embarassed...
  1. Choose a Shame-factor. You can leave a weight loss table at work/publish it at Facebook or here. It must be really embarrassing if you fail.
  2. Make a table containing: your current stats on top, date/week count, current weight, total weight lost, this weeks weight loss, (kilos left)
  3. Next Tuesday morning, the 15'th), before breakfast you will weigh yourself. (You might also measure your waist and thighs)
  4. Every Friday before breakfast you make a new weight - ONLY on Fridays.
This is mine from when I lost weight after TeeBee:
Adora info:
Height: 177 cm
Goal : 53,3 kg (the weight I had before my pregnancy)
Start weight: 75,2 kg (+21,9 kg)
(This was after a pregnancy, that's why there was this flying start)
1 weeks: 66,5 kg (-8,7 kg)
2 weeks: 66,0 kg (-9,2 kg)
3 weeks: 65,3 (-9,9 kg)
4 weeks: 65,4 (-9,8 kg) What the hell!
5 weeks: 65,2 (-10 kg)
6 weeks: 64,4 (-10,8 kg)
Christmas!!!
8 weeks: 64,8 (-10,4 kg) +0,4 kg
9 weeks: 64.4 (-10,8 kg again...) -400 g
10 weeks: 63,0 kg (-12,2 kg) -1,4 kg
11 weeks: 62,4 kg (-12,8 kg) -600 g
12 weeks: 61,2 kg (-14,0 kg) -1,2 kg
snip snip
35 weeks: 53,0 kg (-22,2 kg) - 1,0 kg DONE!!

Now we have covered the first step.

Wanna loose weight?

Next Tuesday I'm gonna start you up on the Montignac Method (good to loose weight, but also good for already satisfied bodytypes since it's a healthy way to eat).
I've eaten according to Montignac for about 10 years, and I didn't start it to loose weight, but because I got a gastric catarrh and needed to change my way of eating.
I was a crisp-o-holic and ate 300 grams of crisps every weekend for about a year. I was in it bad, I was one needle away to go down the gutter and be a real crisp-druggie. After that torture my stomach said - no more of this shit and self-cutted.
Also...I though my husband was a bit too...ehh..large? I only like skinny bitches so for me to keep loving him he needed to ditch that extra weight faster then a bra in the wrong bedroom.
But I can't blame him on adding a few kilos - it was my cooking that put him there... me and my potatoe gratin overflowing with cream. So I needed to be punished as well.

It was our friend Mr N that told us about this method all of the nerds at his computer company did, loosing weight while sitting on their asses. Suited me just fine since I hate moving around for nothing.
Bought the book, changed my way to cook.
I will try to guide you as good as I can. Join me!

Guests today

My mother and her husband came for lunch and desserts today.
We had canapes for lunch (strange lunch I know...).
and then after we had some coffee with Bailey's, lemon cupcakes with frosting and semifreddo served with strawberries.
I got the one that matched my new GreenGate mug.
Today the try-outs for the European Song Contest starts! Wihooo!
I love that.
Usually we hang out with friends and look at it together; judging their singing, clothes and hair etc., but this year we totally forgot the try-outs started today already. And now we both had Bailey's so we can't drive anywhere :(
Oh well, we'll try to be horrible at home instead, trash-talk and give them the goth-finger if they deserve it. But I'm such a sucker for this type of entertaining so I'll probably just looooove everything. Apart from those "fun" dodoes that's always singing about some pizza or love in a wuss way. (links to two of Swedens best *not*)

Swedes have lousy taste in music, and although we have had fantastic songs for the try-outs they have voted for ass-music. How on earth can they turn Alcazar down - 4 times!
If I was under weapon threat and not allowed to listen to electro goth, I would easily surrender to this. It's happy and glitz, just like me.

Synthia almost crushed by IKEA door!

Yesterday when our sweet Synthia was about to pick out an outfit for the next day she opened her mirror door to the PAX wardrobe, by IKEA, and the door let go in the anchoring and fell right at her. In the nick of time she jumped to the side and the door just missed her.
With a heavy bang the door fell to the floor and there was miniature glass splinter all over.
The door is extremely heavy, and if it had hit her I'm sure she would have been killed! I had a hard time with images of what could have been if she wasn't as lucky as she was. Dear God, she could have been killed! She's so tiny...
She too was in shock I guess, she was very upset later. She had to spend the night in Fairlight's room since hers was full of glass.

The worst thing is IKEA sells these doors to this wardrobe still (I think). Synthia had this wardrobe since she was a baby, what if it had happened earlier? Or if it had hit her on the head now...
I must contact IKEA and let them know this door isn't safe before some kid gets hurt.

Fang broke - AGAIN!

Noooooo! How did this happen? The kids have such soft necks it wouldn't even be possible to break a fang nibbling at their necks (naaahhh, I'm just playing über-cool vampire goth, it was in fact the sticky brownie cupcake. How the hell can you break a fang with a sticky brownie cupcake? Perhaps that is a better protection against vampires than garlic?
Vampire: "- Look out! She's got a sticky brownie cupcake!" And vampire turns to dust with a moan...)
I haven't got a new appointment until Monday...oh maaan :(

Lure them in with cupcakes

Today I had 5 kids at home. Under false pretences I lured them in with cupcakes (well, the two extra kids came with their mother).
Here's the cupcakes; sticky brownie cupcake with nougat frosting, strawberry jam cookies and lemon cupcakes with frosting
My plate. I got stuck with the ghost marengue cupcake *mohaha ha*
I had 5 kids running wild here. That's good, it get's their blood pumping so it's easier to drink their blood. And after they have gotten a good sugar-rush I had a killing frenzy ending up to my next blog post.....

I'm the stylist of this video

Miranda X, the sweet 16 year old daughter of my good friend made a video for her song (be awere, it's not electro or goth). I helped with the styling. All the clothes she's wearing are my own (bra excluded). You can even spot my own designs as the Adorable Heart blouse and my Lovely Lace long skirt in a few of the clips <3

My fang is back and ready for action

I usually stay in all day as the light shy creature I am. But today I had an urgent agenda - my precious right fang has been broken and I had to fix it since my tummy was screaming for food.
I was in luck today - no sun was up and I could easily take a stroll to Mr V, my dentist.
Lipstick: Kryolan LP 630
He was working with the fang for quite a bit, he even was nice enough to ask how sharp I wanted it. As sharp as it goes, of course!
He made it look fantastic, as if it never been broken.
(For nerds: He didn't remove the whole shebang, he just rebuilt the part that was missing)
I really, really like the sweet curve he gave it, like a little hook. I can feel my fangs itching right now! Time for a midnight snack perhaps ;)

My fang broke!

My career as a vampire is for the time beeing on hold. I was trying to hug (=bite) my son and the little confect knocked me so hard my right fang broke off!!!

"-Hi, mr Dentist, can you please attach my fang again?"
And he could, on Wednesday.
For the time beeing the world is safe from me...
Lipstick: Kryolan LP 630 with Viva la Diva glitter

Goth gadgets

I wished I had an extra apartment where I could go totally goth in the decorations.
Why I don't do it now? I hate colors (in my living area), it makes me scatter-brained so I can only survive having a white apartment.
Sure, I add colored pillows and curtains from time to time - BUT I can remove them easy and then I'm left with that calming white again :)

But IF I had this mirror world apartment I sure would hang this in the ceiling!
Find it here at etsy.com

Yesterday

My Saturday was spent celebrating my husbands brothers son who turned 18.
It was lots of fun, and here in Sweden that means when you come of age (is that the right expression, really?), so he now has the right to buy alcohol at pubs. I'm guessing he was the first one in line yesterday!
I admit - I was not the best me, I used the time to make my kids pretty in their hair and then there was no time for poor me :( This is my "boring" hairstyle. Shit - I'm really in a need of bleaching my roots!
But it's not until 20 you can go to the "Systembolaget" (we still have alcohol controlled by the state in just one special store) and buy liquoer yourself.
Very strange considering you are allowed to buy it at pubs 2 years earlier... I'm guessing the state want that money for those two years.
And I know noone who waited past 16 for their first drunkenness..

My first drunkenness was at the age of 15.
We were a big gang of girls, and we had a rule so we all tried, but at different times, so a few of us got drunk, and the other girls took care of the drunken ones (smart, right!). I was one of the last ones to try. This time it was me and a girl named Jenny. We didn't know how much we were supposed to drink, but we wanted to make sure to get drunk. It my case that was drinking 1½ bottle of red and white wine in just 3 minutes.
Needless to say - I couldn't be in the same room where my parents opened a bottle of wine for the next comming 8 years.... They teased me a LOT about it :)

Drunk I got, puked I did, laughed about I've done ever since.
The content of it all: I couldn't see the fun in it really since I'm always been very freed before, and needed no alcohol to get out of my shell. So I was always the designated driver in my SAAB 96 V4, named Arnold.
This is not Arnold, but it looks exactly the same, color and all. Best car I've ever had. It had a column shift.
I think I was sober until 21, then I drinked a bit, and by 26 I could enjoy it (or how to speak). I'm still no big alcohol consumer - if I don't count the weekend at the M'era Luna festival in Germany every August ;)

Baked: rhubarb crumble pie

Kids wanted something sweet for Friday afternoon break.
Mum baked a rhubarb crumble pie.
I defrosted my freezer yesterday and found some rhubarbs of the summer, so I tried a new recipe. Althought it was very good, I won't do it again - it contained far too much sugar. I will continue using my old well-proved recipe for crumble pie. Served with lightly whipped cream with a dash of vanilla.
Even if I eat mostly according to Montignac Method I can eat small portions of delights <3 since I'm in Phase 2.  Without getting fat! All hail Montignac and his method!

Adora BatBrat inspired makeup tutorial (dramatic)

I just found this! So cute <3
My Friday just got even better :) The worst part is she does my look better then I do...

The only difference is that I have mini-hearts instead of dots at the ends. I do love hearts...and dots..
All the pictures are from the M'era Luna festival, Germany 2010

Me answering a question

I got this in a message and decided to answer it where everyone can see:

"I was reading your blog post about the "little make up and shabby outfit"... and I have to ask you (though I know I'd be the 1000th one): do you put on make up and style your hair and wear fancy dresses every day? Even to stay in home? I mean, what time do you wake up? Right now I'm wearing a sweater and a pair of jeans... I'd like to look at my best everyday, but aside my laziness, I don't feel comfy all day long staying at home in leggins and tight shirts... not to mention wearing shoes at home! is this something you can get used to? Can I train myself feeling at my ease without baggy clothes? Or is this some kind of swedish superpower?"

The answer is - yes! I do dress up every day and wears heavy make up.
Not festival-dressed, but a bit more over dressed then the average person I guess (since I get asked this a lot). At festivals I'm half nude, and that is not something I wanna be going grocery shopping for broccoli ;)

It's hard to explain without sounding like a narcissist...
I think of it like: "I deserve this. I deserve to feel beautiful and to be the best me every day". Many people wonder why I'm so happy, and I am, and part of it I think is because I dress up every day. Who can not feel happy when dressed nicely?
And also I can't figure out why the most pretty clothes are only to be worn on special occations? I don't have that many special occations...

Sometimes my husband changes into a t-shirt when he gets home from work *sorry to out you, honey* and I give him hell every time. This is what he hears, the poor bastard: "-If you are gonna wear ugly clothes, wear them at work. I should be the one you dress up for, not your work!" I'm a bitch wife!

Also: when we met, my husband choose me because of the way I looked, and out of respect for him I do my make up every day, wears cute clothes and try to keep my hair okay. And therefor I demand the same respect from him. This sounds so horrible: but remember - we have been together for 22 years, so there must be something right by this? Or it might just be Swedish superpower.... (I loved that comment! Wihhhiiihhaha)

But the main reason is: If you look good, you feel good. You deserve to look fantastic every day!

(I do not wear my shoes inside my flat, I have pretty black slippers at home, but I wear shoes on the outfit pictures since I'm in the hallway of the house).
How I miss my blue hair seeing this

Todays outfit

This was how I looked at todays business meeting
A lot better than that lame make up I had on yesterday. Felt a lot more like me today. Only my nosechain missing - and why I didn't wear it? It's winter here, and to add cold metal against your cheek is not what you wanna do then.
Porsche joined me on the pic
