My sister Jenni arrived tonight because tomorrow at 04.00 we'll start our journey to Hildesheim, Germany and the Mera Luna festival. If I meet you there - hugs!!!!
If not, here's a virtual hug *mmm, hugs, hugs*

Todays outfit (yesterday).

Having black roots is always a good idea to hide with goggles, tiaras, hats and other shrewd hair decor.
I have just bleached my hair, but yesterday was not a good hairday...

My EBM (Electronic Body Music) look :) This feels so Headhunter by Front 242 1988 for me.
I used to look like this at discos in my teens. But wearing 10 eye Doc's instead.
One cool dance move if I might say!
And no, I'm not knock-kneed as many have asked.
But my knees have a story of it's own. Tell it some other time ;)
This isn't a mirror image and, hell, even I am blown away by my skill to make exact the same painting on each side! I'm better than I thought!

Question time

I got this in my comments the other day and feel like I want to give a fair explanation:

Question
Anonymous said...
she never answers your comments or questions either here or on facebook, you losers ... that's how great she is. it's nauseating.
August 5, 2011 3:01 PM

Answer
@Anonymous: That's not true. I answer every now and then :(
The next day I always read through the comments from the day before. I would like to answer every comment and mail I get, but I am very sorry - I cannot :(
I get over 200 mails and comments every day, I blog and works with other things and I have 3 kids that want's mummys attention as well. I try to be humble and answer when I can, but I'm sorry to say I failed...
I can but say I will continue trying and perhaps say "Thank's" a bit more often since many are sweet taking their time to leave me comments.

Thank you everyone for leaving me cute comments, interesting questions and telling me to shape up (I appreciate this too).
One more thing: I think there is always two ways of saying the same thing.
Instead of insulting this blogs followers (people who have done you no harm) and me you could just have rephrased it to:
"Adora, I feel like you never answer any comments here or on Facebook. How come? A bit more feedback to your readers would be welcome."
This still makes your point, but sounds a bit nicer.
Always try to think about how you say things (this lesson I tell my kids every week). Try to be humble, since you know nothing about this person. I could just have lost someone close to me, I might have a disease myself, perhaps I suffer from narcolepsy or I killed someone and ponders about that all days being afraid the coppers will knock on my door with some cold steel to put on my wrists. And I do not mean the stylish kinds that's called bracelets...

Married for 13 years

Today it's 13 years since I walked down the aisle to marry the boy who I can't take my eyes off. We both fell madly in love the first time we layed eyes on eachother and I have never seen a boy who I find equally attractive since.
To me he is the most beautiful boy I've ever seen (ok, so he gained some weight over the years, but when we met he was that skinny boy-type I've always found so enchanting).

Here we are at our wedding day the 8'th of August 1998. I made our dresses. Stupid me bought his fabric on the Tuesday of the week we were about to get married and had it done 4 days later (while sewing my own dress, the bridesmaids dresses and be on top of the wedding plan...).
I was so worth my morning gift; my solitary diamond!

Synthia's 8'th birthday party

As the swedish tradition I made 7 kinds of cakes/cookies for my beautiful first child; Synthia's B-Day.
She went out and bought the serviettes for her party. It turned out perfect!

Here's some shots of the cookies and cakes. My favorites are (well all really) the blueberry as the raspberry cupcakes <3 and death caps.
Mini raspberry cupcakes with frosting and a small jungfru bröst/virgin breast (as we call them in swedish) on  top. Or if you're prude you can call them jelly raspberries...
My "eye" cookies. To make them even cuter I put them in a small candy paper this time. They look like super small cupcakes <3
All in one shot! From front to back: chess squares, eye cookies, sticky brownie cookie with peanuts, sticky brownies cookies, blueberry cupcakes, death caps, raspberry cupcakes.

Minimal blueberry cupcakes with blue frosting and sprinkles on top. I feel like a GIANT when I eat all those small cookies.
 The birthday princess herself <3
Happy 8'th birthday, my pretty and sweet girl Synthia! Beautiful Fairlight in background is totally pre-occupied by her cakes.

and here's the strawberry filled cake she decorated (with some help from me).

Todays make up

Tomorrow we will have Synthia's birthday party for the relatives :)
It will be so much fun!
So, although it's a super nice Friday, it's mostly been cleaning, bathing the kids, baking, preparing the cake, ironing and some last minute shopping.

I paint my white dots with dipping the other side of the eyeliner brush into Kryolan Ultrafluid Foundation TV-white. This gives perfect round dots :)
Green eyebrows is made by adding some water to my green FACE eye shadow. Paint with eyeliner brush. Simple as that.

Todays outfit

Todays style was *Shopping*! One of my favorite sports.
One of the few sports I can indulge myself in for hours and hours...
I bought a few things for Synthia's birthday party on Saturday, and I even had the time to buy something small for myself <3
I'm wearing my "grown up" make up today because of lack of time. I do love myself better with goth make up. Okay, this works, I still think I look cute, but it looks so adult and parenting!

I'm wearing: top and dotted stockings by H&M, gloves by Lindex or H&M, skirt; heavily altered by me, shoes by Demonia.

This is the most fun I've had in years weeks days.
I wonder which bags weight more?
Oops! Perhaps I did a shopping overdose?
I might get away with it if I look really, really cute ;*
So what? I'm busted and this is a mug shot! If you can't do the time, don't do the crime...
I'll be back on the streets before you can say grounded!

Lenses

In 10 days it's the M'era Luna festival in Hildesheim, Germany.
As usual I have outfit-panic!!!!
What to wear? How will I do the make up? The hair, what about the f*cking hair?!!
The thing is: German people are the BEST when it comes to really cool outfits. You can never out-cool them.
I won't even try...
This year me and sister will try a new thing (for us). We were about to buy a certain kind of lenses but they will not be able to arrive in time and to my luck I found a total opposite lens today that I bought. Not what we were going for, but it will work. Now I just need to sew a bit too, and I think we are home free.
But that was only for day 1...Day 2 is still an enigma. All I know is that I will be wearing black..

At Ölands zoo and amusement park

Our vacation have been filled with rain, rain and a bit more rain. Not so fun weather.
Finally today was a wonderful, sunny day and we packed the whole klan into our car and drove for an hour to Ölands zoo and amusement park.
I had two layers of sunblock on, as well as my umbrella (witch made curious kids coming up to me all the time to ask why I had an umbrella when there was no rain? I simply bit their heads off.
Nah, I was very sweet, I wanna lure them to the dark side, that's my evil plan) but still I feel a bit tanned ;(

I found some boobs to relax against for a while..

What about that "normal" apron?

I got lexured yesterday about my somewhat plain apron I was wearing:

Heatherface said...
Shame on you, Adora! Your apron is so plain and white! You should add some lace or something! ;)

Rubina Månsken said...
hahha heatherface is right! Your apron is not goth enough!!!

Thank you! Very good comments, my fellow goths!
I have better aprons I assure you, but this is an original from a swedish housewife school from 1951, so I don't have the heart to change something with such a story :)
It is one of my favorite aprons, and I only wear it on very special occations!

Pre-birthday party for Synthia

I started off the morning by making 5 different kinds of cookies. Defrosted some mini-cupcakes I made earlier this week.
Hey - I might be super-Adora, but to make 7 different kinds of cookies before noon? Even for me that is a big task! I'm sorry if I disappoint anyone ;)

Packed it all in a bag, as the birthday cake and took my whole family with me to my friend L's house where Synthia decorated her cake and I and L put all our cookies on a big table to give our kids the full sugar rush experience ;)
Here are some of mine
And here's the kitchen bitch herself. Notice the little hand to the lower right *haha*

Baking my ass off

I'm swamped with baking.
I have no time for anything else :(
So far today I've done 5 different kinds of cookies. Why this cookie frenzy?
I have no time to tell!!!! It's kind of some birthday...

BatBrat.com - Stockings

I got a comment about the shop I want to answer.
Question:
"MoonLight said...
It is a shame that you are selling Chinese stockings for $19 which can be bought on eBay for a maximum of $5 including shipping. These exact same stockings, I have them. Such a shame. Even brands like leg avenue don't overprice stuff like this and it's cheep Chinese stuff. And no, I'm not jealous, I've waited for this shop and am disappointed, I shop a lot on the internet and know these facts. "

Answer:
Thank you for your question.
I have a very small company and is just starting out, due to this I can't buy at stock prices or hold a big stock at my home, and the ones selling it that cheap is often the China company (producer) itself and they have a deal with China Post or DHL to be able to have free freight - I have not.

And remember, I live in Sweden and have to pay 25% tax on EVERYTHING I order plus $54 on every package to customs. For me, the price in total is way beyond $5 (unfortunately) per item.
I'm always on the lookout for cheaper wholesalers though since I want people being able to afford what I'm offering.
The prices I have on my pantyhoses is still lower then the other swedish alternative webshops.
Above all this I want to have a salary since I'm working hard on making a webshop where the make up, stockings and my own designed garment are to be sold in just one convenient place.
I am very sorry, but I can never match $ prices when living in Sweden. That's just a fact.

BatBrat webshop having a pre-release party

After some difficulties the webshop is now up and running! Happy, happy!!!!
So far just a few items, but hopefully not too long until I can bring more stuff here.
My own designs is delayed since a few more laces must be produced in China for me.
I have tried to have all the make up I use myself on my site, but IsaDora, who makes the powder I use every day will not sell to me. With them you need to carry their full stuff, and not some handpicked items. That's a shame.
But I do have the Kryolan make up's I use, so I'm not so far behind.
I hope you like it.

Been at Stockholm

Sunday I was at my friend L's house for some sweet cupcakes she made.
I like having friends that knows their way around the kitchen.

All off a sudden my honey called and announced that we have got babysitters so we could go to Stockholm tomorrow! Wihooo...shopping and holding hands without some mini persons saying its boooooring or wanting to hold my hand so I can't hold my honey.

Monday: leaving the little cuties at my husbands parents and then quickly jump into the car and drive the 6 hour drive to Stockholm.
Here I am driving our SAAB 9-5 Aero Sportcombi, named Miss Brown after this song. I love driving!
I made it all the way to Stockholm without any major problems ;)
We took a fast stroll on town, mostly to check out some Pip Studio Design and Green Gate stuff I wanted. But the stuff I wanted wasn't in.
This is the make up I had on the first day. You can't really tell, but I had like a jar or silver glitter from Make Up Store under each eye. I LOVE GLITTER!!! Must have been a crow in my previous life.
Next day I was ready for town in this little outfit. It's a basic tulle skirt (I have a few safety pins on the inside to lift the tulle at front), my top is just a bra, linen and a bra top (bustier?) from an underwear store. I have no problem wearing underwear on top :) and a few necklaces, net gloves and dotted stockings.
I'm only wearing corsets on special occations, like concerts/festivals. On a regular shopping I wear corset-like things, but nowhere near as hard like a real corset. Corset = prettiest, but I don't wanna die when shopping (although that would be a fab way to go!).

Had a BIG shrimp salad for lunch.
Went back to our friend N & J's flat to pack our bags.
Stopped on the way for a soft ice with lots of sprinkles.
Then I had some Thai food - and kill me slowly by lightening one hair at the time to flames - that was HOT! My eyes started to run, and I could not stop saying "ouch" for every bite. I was so hungry and it tasted so good that nano second before the lava feeling entered that I had to finish it. It was the strongest food I have ever had. I'd rather turn normal than eat that again. It was THAT horrible!

Best thing about Stockholm is that I spotted some really good looking, alternative girls (as in pretty, not me being in love), but I'm lousy at recognicing people so I hope it was noone I was supposed to recognice so they thought I was a total snob not saying hello. I'm always worried about that...
BUT a super cute, and total surprice, was a gorgeous girl with big, black hair and super pretty face that came up to me and told me she followed me on youtube and that she liked my style (I think. I was so surprised!). It made me really happy <3 Thank's :)

And what else - oh yes, when I was in the Shock shop I was photographed for their Facebook page. She said they photographed their most pretty customers. Even if it was a total lie, it still made me bit happy :)
And that was this Stockholm tour. I hope it will not be too long until I go there again. I'd love to have more time there, so I could go to a disco or something.

The kids

Synthia and Fairlight at a bakery having some cake. Synthia is a spitting image of me as a kid and Fairlight is a perfect girl version of my husband. I always knew he would look fab as a girl ;)
Mummy loves <3

After we went to IKEA to buy a new mattress...and had an ice cream

Todays make up

As we are re-arranging a bit at home we needed some stuff.
*Uhhh, I just smashed a bug on my computer screen. Icky!*
So we gathered the kids and went out today. It was no easy task, but we managed to find what we were looking for.
We started off by taking an afternoon break at a coffe house.
I went for an applepie and a sticky mud cake (well, I bought the sticky chocolate cake and my husband the apple pie, and then we split both in half and exchanged flavours).
 The BatBrat bunch ;)
And what did we shop for? Oh, nothing exiting at all. Just a white stool with storage space to keep our collection of paper .
