Happy New Year to all the pretty Goths!

I made a nice entry for the year 2013 with some fire crackers!
2013 - this must be a year of bad luck...or as a goth person would say; bad luck for you - normals. Best luck for goths.

2013 is the Goth Year!
Let's all make everyone know it!

I'll drop some of my favorite pictures of me :)
And some wishes I have for 2013.
This I love, because this is how I see myself most of the time - totally happy.

I've decided I'm gonna have loads of moments like this 2013.
Kissing!
I wanna kiss more! I like it!
Be a better sister to my sister.
To call and hang out with her more. When we finally have time to hook up we always end up
with crazy ideas of world domination, UCG jokes and just being pretty together. It's a hoot ;)
After our photo shoot for the catalogue of goth fashion store X-tra-x.
I'm gonna be more exclusive and put some effort to my pretty being.
Hell, I'm worth it! I'll make my 40'th year the best make up year ever!
(I'm skeptical, but I will challenge myself)
As all parents I will aim to be an even better mom this year. I think I did good
2012, but one can always improve! I'll paint more with Fairlight, play more
board games with Synthia and build more Star Wars Lego with TeeBee.
Of course I'll still be baking and crafting with them.
And I can't say I'd cuddle them more, because we already cuddle so much!
To celebrate my wonderful grandpa Harry on yet another birthday is
something I hope for. He is getting old, and it scares me... He is 90 now
and will turn 91 on Fairlight's birthday the 11th of April. He's been a BIG
influence of my life. I got my second name "Harriet" to honour him.
Naturally I will be as disturbed as usually, but hopefully less unconcentrated.
But to be as wierd and have as fun as usual must be prio one!
I like the wacko me, most of all since I never know what I'm gonna do next.
I live in a constant surprise of my own life! Hahaha
...and to hang out more with friends, perhaps go clubbing sometime, and okay, okay - make a video every once in a while...

To all pretty Goths and pretty alternatives

(outside or inside) I wish you an AWESOME

2013 - The year of the Goth!!!

Pepptalk yourself happy, then be bad

This morning I set a rule to myself:
to be perky all day.

It's usually nothing I need to think about since I always jump out of bed with a big smile (just to make everyone else feel bad about themselves). It annoys the hell out of people. I like that!

But the past week I've had a killer sore throat (okay, so I know I'm not supposed to eat razor blades for evening snacks, but I'm goth. I can't help it).
And what do you know?!
Having a fever and a massive sore throat can actually get on your temper! WHOA! I just couldn't recognice this grumpy, but super-cute, goth girl in the mirror.
But it was me!

Being down is for cheerleaders (I was about to make a nasty comment on them being down on their backs...but I won't) so I had to shape it up.

And it worked splendid! Perhaps getting the cutest cuddles from my family members and the ladies at the charity shop who came up to me just to tell me they thought I looked amazing, and the ladies at the small Wedding exhibit who said I looked lovely and delightful might have something to do with it.
OR - I'm just a devil at boosting myself and deciding to snap out of things.

Since I got a bit too much goodwill today I must decide on being sneaky and vicious tomorrow.

After all, I am goth.

How we celebrate Swedish Midsummer

Christmas and Midsummer are the biggest holiday celebrations in Sweden.
This German commercial by IKEA was banned because it was supposedly offencive? No Swedes I've ever talked to think so -this IS how it's done! I can totally relate to it - I've been to Midsummer fests like this!

This Midsummer we watched it again, and the only things we didn't agree on in the commercial is the fighting and the tossing of the food. We should never do that - waste food like that?!
Everything else just made us nod our heads and send around the bottle marked with an X one more time ;)
Why should we feel offended by the truth? Truth is - we are not. Stupid person who banned this.
See how happy we are celebrating!

Healthy, skinny body 2: My body

This might come off as bragging - but is far from.
It is more of an insight on how ridiculous one can be.
I'm 39! Took me some years to appreciate current status on my body and say -Hey - it's totally okay!

And to think I spent my teens thinking it looked horrendous!
The hip bone poking out, my ribs showing, my flat butt and my crooked legs as well as my height made me feel like an alien.
Today I would have been so happy to have that body. Stupid teen me!

Being naturally skinny is never beautiful according to society and people LOVE to make you feel bad because you have that body type. And the fact I don't work out and also eat (what I consider) "right" (Montignac Method) is even more tantalizing apparently.

I once read a funny comic:
2 fat ladies were sitting by the pool as a skinny bitch was climbing out of it.
Fat lady 1:-Being that skinny is SO ugly!
Fat lady 2: Yeah, I agree. I wish I was that ugly...

I think that summens it up ;)

I like to be positive so I've decided to think like this:
"I will love the body I have right now, because in a year it will look worse!" and that, my friends, is a true quote by Adora BatBrat!

So, take a good look in the mirror tonight and tell your body it's the most beautiful you have ever seen! <3

If you won't mind me saying:
Whoa! Your body looks great!

Crafting: sugar art

I used a chocolate mold for doing this sugar swan this Easter.
It turned out beautiful!
But old habits dies slow and I happened to break the neck while I tried to bite it....it was such a long and inviting neck!
Had to "glue" it back (with sugar icing).

I think I will let the kids feast on it on Fairlight's birthday party for her classmates next week.
Their parents will be SO thankful for that kind gesture.
Shit, I still got that evil streak in me! Thank Goth for that!
I was a bit worried I've become nice.

Now I will paint the final coat on TeeBee's chair so I can put on the fabric until my darlings birthday (my pretty husband turnes 23 - or was it 43(?) the 21'st) on Saturday so the place doesn't look like a complete mess with half-done projects in every corner...like it most often does..
That will probably be on top of his wishlist when it comes to me...

My desktop

I used to have such a cute picture of me as desktop, but then I did something and it disappeared!
Isn't that just strange (doofus Adora, all thumbs..)?
So I just added a tile of a favorite picture of me, when I look as crazy as I feel. You know, for the time beeing, until I did a new desktop picture of <3me<3. Did that ever happen....
But I really like this expression on my face! It's a keeper :)

Fresh air at last!

I haven't been out and about since I got sick last Saturday.

Today the last man standing - my pretty husband, got sick as well!

Synthia and Fairlight went to school Friday, but me and TeeBee is still sick and today our nurse/slave/feeder could no longer fight back the bacteria and surrendered so I had to step in, healthy or not.

I, with the nauseous sense, had to make dinner for the kids, tuck them in single-handedly (although easy) and feed the cats even though I should probably stay in bed 2 more days myself.

Killing of the last milk at dinner forced me to run down for a couple of liters to survive tomorrows breakfast with the sweet kids.

Hair have not been washed for almost 2 weeks (!) so I had to go for the criminal look with a hoody to hide the green mess...

(I better explain about the 2 weeks... I just wash my hair once a week, most often on Saturdays, and last Saturday I woke up sick so I missed my day and that makes 2 weeks without a hair wash)

Still on "sick food"

Have you noticed?

The sun is out, people are happy and the world seems so calm.

Sorry about that, Goths. I take full responsibility.

Last time this occurred was, well, not one amongst the living today was even born back then...so I just let myself be content by saying it was a very, VERY, long time ago..

..and that time it was also my fault since I happened to get caught up in a too tight laced up corset and 2 young men for a week.

But humanity should stop smiling and have blushing cheeks quite soon because I'm on my way back to the living; one boiled potatoe and one boiled salmon at the time...

No one is allowed to have blushed cheeks naturally!

It's only with a discrete sweep over the cheeks in a natural color - just like I wear it (haha ha), that is appropriate.

Winter puke disease! Prepare to be defeated!!!

Am I amongst the living again?

Do I dare to hope?
I woke up 05:56 and have not been able to get back to sleep since.
No wonder since I've been doing nothing BUT slept since Saturday.
I have actually started THINKING today!
Is the disease on it's way to finally say goodbye?!
In Sweden it's the same every year; half of the population is down flat for a week by the Winter puke disease/Winter flu.
But I have not had the Winter flu since 1993, when I had it 2 years in a row. My immune system must have been crazy good after that near death experiences.
At the time I lived at a boarding school with 8 other girls.
They took such good care of me and I rewarded them all by giving them my flu.
8 girls to go shop, hand out water and check up upon at the same time. If not it prepared me for a life with 3 kids.

I should not be up doing jumping Jacks and eat a 3 dish dinner just jet, but I can see the light at the tunnel!

My first "dinner" for days

I went to the doctor today, just to calm down all worried friends and family that I'm not having a brain damage (another one!) after Sundays fainting in the bathroom.

She told me I was severe under nourished after not being able to eat since I got sick Saturday evening. I have only been able to eat pears, homemade potatoes soup and drink water

I got ordered to drink Coca Cola and to eat toast, so that's what I'm doing right now.

Not my usual diet I might add, the total opposite really, but whatever it takes to make me get back in shape.

If sugar and carbohydrates is what my brain needs right now to kick start; sugar and carbohydrate is what it gets!

Soap in my eye

4 out of 5 people are in horizontal  position because of the Winter puke disease here. Only my husband is still amongst the living and we treat him like Cinderella.

-Do this, get that, bring me this, make me...

In an attempt to be nice back I decided to clean out the wash bin. In my half sedated state of sickness I, as I closed the lid, accidentally got a big drop of soap straight into my left eye.

The pain was unbelievable!

I felt like Frankenstein being attacked by a thousand toothpicks set on fire straight to the eye. Like in slow motion I could hear myself roar and fighting my way to the water.

Like in a bad blackheads commercial I splashed my face with water from different angles but nothing helped.

In the mirror a deranged womans red eye stared back at me. Wild look and a small tear slowly showing because of the pain.

Poor me for being so clumsy.

This happened at 10 this morning, more than 12 hours ago - and it still hurts!

But it would have been worse if my eye started to foam up every time I blinked!

Imagine that Goth Disney cartoon!

I fainted

I woke up in the middle of the night and needed some water.
I went to my bathroom and drank. I decided to take a leak since I was up.
All of a sudden I woke up on the floor in the shower with a massive headache and pain everywhere.
Apparently I fainted!
Picture borrowed from here
I needed help to get up so I tried to shout for my husband, but I sounded probably like a weak mouse and he was sleeping in Fairlight's room that is in the total opposite of our flat so he couldn't hear me.
I tried to shout, whistle and to make the SOS with my rings, but nothing...
Eventually I found an almost empty shampoo bottle I pounded against a door, and after a while he heard me.

Life savier?
He found me laying in the shower with my knickers down and asked me in panic for how long I had been there? -I went to the bathroom at 02:24, I said.
-Are you kidding me? That was over an hour ago!, he said.

I have no idea for how long I was out from the faint, but I do know I have several bumps in my head today. One that hurts really bad is over my temple.
The rest of the body have got some bruisers as well.
Think I won't close the door next time...

Now I'm sick as well!

Since Synthia got the "Winter puke disease", as it's called in Sweden, I have just counted the seconds until it's my time. It's unbelivable contagious and I have shared bed with her sinceFriday.
An accident about to happen you might say...
Worst part is I'm stuck in my bedroom with her and she's only watching annoying kids TV all the time.
I try to sleep as much as possible and she's kind enough to to wake me up for "Vampireshool" and "Phineas and Ferb".

Todays Goth look and make up

Bad thing!
Synthia started puking the night until Friday and been home sleeping all day.
Panic always result in having my hair up, like some old teacher.

And now; ready for my close ups?

And this picture happened to be so cute <3

Goth eyebrows: IsAdora glossy eyeliner waterproof

After a full day of kissing, cuddling and so on the eyebrows still looked acceptable. Small cracks are starting to show and on one side a piece fell off so I had re -do it.
+ The color remained intact all day, with a super sharp black filled color. It's not sticky or smudgy.
- Small cracks are showing, but not so much.

As a eyeliner it works 10p, and as eyebrows goes; i have to give 9 it points. I love that super black.

Goth eyebrows

Not done! Be carefully not to burn your eyes out, because there are no make up on eyes...

I usually paint my brows using my Kryolan cake liner and CEL sealer for delicate work such as eyebrows.

But today I decided to step out of my comfort zone and be devilish crazy and try something else. Well tested since before, yes, but in a completely new area.

I will not lie. My hands shaked as I dipped my thin aquarelle brush into the little container and then spread the glossy IsAdora( I know it's called IsaDora, but I like IsAdora better) over my forhead where my "eyebrows" are located.
Judgement on IsAdora glossy eyeliner waterproof so far:
+ looove the very black and glossy line it left. Quite easy to paint on, but I expect more from my eyeliners. But, again, it looks super sharp because of it's very black, glossy color.
- can't paint super thin lines and the color isn't flowing enough to sweep the line on, I must paint slow in order for the color to get a grip. I hate slow..
It feels like it might crack during the day, but it can prove me wrong.

Todays Goth make up

Friday.
I have 3 lollipops in my coffin shaped bat bag just in case the baby BatBrats are hungry as I get home. Their teeth are getting very sharp these days...

Last day of business school...how sad. I feel so lost without all those funny and inspiring classmates and teachers that made those 4 weeks so lovely.
I have learned lots, my brain have been a bit messed up from time to time, but now it functions quite well.

Todays make up part II

So...I had the doctors appointment...
Dropped my goth German stockings and in an arduous manner made my way upon the paper covered bed.
My lovely doctor "I" put her hand on my hurting hip and said it was just bursting with heat.
No doubt about it, she said. You have a severe inflammation in a bursa.

She gave me a shot of cortisone straight into the right place in my hip. Ouch!
I will also eat medicine to kill off the inflammation.
Furthermore she recommended me to get rid of a Lipoma I was about to have surgically removed last year, but 2 seconds before the surgery the doctor felt the lipoma was so much bigger than he thought, and that it went straight into my body where it could hurt my spine and other organs during the procedure since he had no way of knowing how big it actually was without letting me have a CAT scan first.

He said I should think it over since it's not that good to have a CAT scan just like that.
But now my hip problem might originate from my previous back problems so I must deal with it now apparently.
(In my 20's I got a strange pain in my back, and after years of going to different doctors, physical therapy 3 times/a week for a year, all kinds of medicine and a whole lot of crying and about 7 years of unexplained back pain that for several times a year made me have so much pain I couldn't leave the apartment for a week atthe time since I could not lift my legs. To go 5 meters in the flat took me 20 minutes and always made me cry. I couln't go to the toilet by myself, needed help to be lifted in and out of bed, as getting dressed and needed help to shower. Without my husband I don't know how I would have survived. Going from doctor to doctor just to hear:
"-You are to young to have back problems." to "-It might be some sciatica-like pain, but you can't have that at your age." makes you feel very hopeless. I couldn't even lift a full milk carton without getting back pain.
My lovely husband put me back onto my glass pedestal and didn't allow me to do anything that would cause me back pain after that. So this is also why I try to do 100 situps/day, just to help my body, not to have a flat tummy. I try to live very careful, and I think me eating according to Montignac Method have helped as well.)

Todays make up

Adora's Valentine's Day Poem.

On the pure white snow
Blood never looked more beautiful
You make my blood freeze I said
But Winter just laughed away
and dead I stay

Who'd knew I had a poem in me?
My friendly neighbour behind me at the class was sweet enough to hand out jelly and nougat hearts to everyone! (not him on picture, that's another classmate). I wish him a lovely Valentine's Day - and everyone else too.
Thank you, A.
Many budgets and salary and costs in and out have been on the schedule all day long. My brain is shutting down...zzzzz.

Happy Valentine's Day!

When I got on the bus this morning I was given a bag of jelly hearts from the bus company.
How cute!

What a lovely thing to get!
Spread the love <3

Have a love filled day today! I'm sending you a big hug - just for you. But you need to promise to always take care of your heart and only let good things in there.
I LOVE ME! And you love you!
